Leah Saifi Vaults to New Heights at East Coast Relays | NJ#2 All-Time

Leah Saifi of Governor Livingston HS, who is only a junior, set the NJ#2 all-time height in the girls pole vault on Monday night. After thunder delays and under the lights Saifi cleared the 12-8 bar to set a major NJ#1 heading into state season. This also broke the Union County record in the event.

The state record is held by Danielle O'Reilly of Shawnee who cleared 13-3 back in 2004 at the Olympic Conference Championships.

Saifi has had a great year in the pole vault, she was New Jersey's winner at the Meet of Champions during indoor with a height of 12-0 and placed 12th at New Balance Nationals. This outdoor season she has racked up seven meet leading heights, her only loss coming at Penn Relays. Her previous best of 12-1 coming into this meet was set back in April at the Blue Devil Classic.
