Salisbury Has Herself a Day at Passaic County Championships

Hawthorne's senior Kaitlin Salisbury was all over the podium last week as she won four individual events.

Two of those victories were brought to fruition by state leading performances. In the long jump she launched herself 20-0 which is NJ#1 so far this season by just under ten inches! In the triple, where she already leads the state at 40-1.25 from back in April, she marked 38-11.25 for the win on Saturday.

Her dominance wasn't limited to the field as she set another state leading NJ#1 standard on the track in the 100 meter dash running 12.13 to win the finals. She entered finals with a 12.35 in preliminaries. In the 200 meter dash she earned the win as well with a NJ#6 performance of 24.98.

She now leads the state in the long jump, triple jump, and 100 meter dash! This talented senior will be continuing her education and athletic career at Bucknell University next year. 

There were plenty of other great performances as well with such as Marco Joseph of Eastside - Paterson who went NJ#8 in the 110 meter hurdles running 14.62. 

Wayne Hills took the boys team title collecting 112.5 points. They were led by performances such as Tyler Hayek's 49.01 in the 400 meter dash and Hunter Hayek's 21.95 NJ#6 in the 200 meter. Check out their full team performance here!

On the girls team competition JFK Paterson won with 115.42 points. Performances such as Ebonee Jackson's 100 meter hurdle time of 14.64 NJ#6 led the way there. JFK Paterson's full team performance can be found here.
