By the end of the meet on Thursday Old Bridge had won three track events and the shot put relay en route to their second straight state relay title. This is the school's fourth all-time, the first two coming back in 2002 and 2010.

Their night started off with a bang in the distance medley relay running a tight race against South Brunswick. Old Bridge's Rey Rivera took off during the 1600 meter leg though and crossed the line in first at 10:27.61 NJ#2 US#3, South Brunswick second at 10:36.79 NJ#3 US#9.

That victory set the tone for a great night on the track for the Old Bridge boys, they went on to win the sprint medley relay in 3:35.67 NJ#1 US#2 just off the meet record of 3:35.13 set by Washington Twp in 2010. Then the 4x400 meter relay with room to spare at 3:26.89 NJ#4. Their shot put relay team made up of Brandon Davis and Dominic Walton also got the job done winning with a total distance of 105-08.5. Davis threw for 56-08.75 NJ#4 and Walton 48-11.75.

Old Bridge track star Rey Rivera was part of both the US#3 DMR and US#2 SMR teams, he spoke about the performances in the interview above. He's entering this season off a great base from cross country.

In the 4x55 meter shuttle hurdle relay East Orange Campus continued their great season running NJ#3 US#4 with a time of 31.06. East Orange Campus was previously ranked NJ#4 thanks to their 31.37 performance at Essex County Relays back at the start of January.

Hunterdon Central also ran US#8 in that race finishing second with 31.73, they later took gold in a photo finish during the 4x200 meter relay running 1:33.18. All a big part of their 34 total points placing them second in the team standings.

Egg Harbor Twp got the spotlight in the 4x800 meter relay when they won with 8:12.72 NJ#5, a race that came down to the line with Old Bridge. The high jump relay went to Passaic County Tech with a total height of 12-00 thanks to Kevin Cooper, 6-00, and Yasir Thomas, 6-00. The pole vault relay finished at 25-0, the leading total put forth by Kingsway vaulters Jacob Metheny and Ryan Evernham both cleared 12-06.
