Local Scene - Bergen County Girls Rankings

4) NORHTERN HIGHLANDS - Despite missing Jenna Stoller, the Highlanders collected 3 dual meet wins on Monday, October 8th at Darlington with victories over Ramapo, Ramsey and Wayne Hills.  The win over Ramsey was an extremely close one, with the score 27-28.  Katie Nestor posted a 20:57, the best individual time for the team.  Highlands also was in action at Holmdel Park last Saturday at the Shore Coaches Invitational, placing 9th in the Girls Varsity C race.

5) OLD TAPPAN - No Saturday meet, but picked up 3 more dual meet victories on Monday, October 8th at Darlington with wins over Demarest, Pascack Hills and Pascack Valley by scores of 23-38, 22-39 and 15-50. 21:53 average at Darlington. Emily Reichbach, Chelsea Corcoran and Morgan Procida were all under 22 minutes.   

6) PARAMUS - Moves up 3 spots in rankings with 2nd place finish in league meet behind Ridgewood.  Patty Hannon posted a 20:31 at Garret and Paramus finished with a 22:12 team average. Paramus also had an 11th place finish in the Girls Varsity B race at the Shore Coaches Invitational.  Hannon was 17th in 20:55; team average was 22:49.8.

7) RAMSEY - Defeated Ramapo in a tight dual meet, 26-29 at Darlington this past Monday.  Alexandra Clinton and Diane Bane posted times of 20:41 and 20:43.  Ramsey finished with a 22:17 team average.  Also beat Wayne Hills and lost by thin margin to Northern Highlands 27-28. 

8) RAMAPO - Lost to #4 Northern Highlands and #7 Ramsey, 23-32 and 26-29 at Darlington on Monday, but beat Wayne Hills 18-44.  Erin McKenna posted the fastest time of the day with a 19:45 solo effort.  Team average was 22:42.9.  

9) DEMAREST - Falls to #5 ranked Old Tappan at dual 23-38, but secured victories over Pascack Hills and Pascack Valley on Monday, October 8th  at Darlington.  Jillian Rothschild finished the 3.1 mile course in 20:28 and teammate Mallory Suede finished in 21:36.  Team average was 22:25.4 

10) TENAFLY - Finish with 21:50 average at BCSL League Champs at Darlington on October 9th.  Junior Ally Legend Siegel won the league title in 20:38.  Teammate Marisa Ayvaliotis finished 3rd in 21:20. Will have chance to move up in rankings in next couple of weeks with Bergen Groups on October 20th.
