Hot Morning, Hot Times - Race For Awareness 5K

The race which was organized to benefit charities associated with chronic illness was the brainchild of the Richardson family, long involved in the Ocean City running scene. Elizabeth, John’s younger sister has been afflicted with various auto-immune diseases since her sophomore year of high school. Elizabeth, who earned a trip to the Outdoor Group Championships as a freshman, has fought back from these debilitating illnesses. A home bound student, she graduated with her class this past spring and is well enough that she will attend the University of Rhode Island in the fall.The race featured some of New Jerseys recent distance running stars as wll as some who will be making news in the future. John Richardson finished 4th  (15:38.3) behind Lex Williams (Sub 14 track 5k @ Michigan), who ran 15:34.6. La Salle’s Dave Alfano (West Orange HS) took 5th in  15:39.4 . Alfano was followed home by;
