INDOOR ACTION HEATS UP

Starting off this week's schedule was the first day of the Seton Hall Games where individual events were the order of the day.
In Girls sprint action, Meghan Morris of Montclair HS won the 55 meters in 7.35 over Georgina Nembhard of Ocean Twp. Who clocked the same time. Andrea Butler of Rahway took 3rd in 7.43. In the 200 meters, defending Group 4 Champ Raquel Vassel of East Orange Campus won in 25.87 followed by Nembhard (26.5) and Morris (26.63).
In the 400 meters, Leslie Njoku of McNair Academic went 58.56 for the win over Cara Dayton of Trenton Central (59.59). Jade Wilson of Neptune took 3rd in 1:03.53. Vassel also took the 55m Hurdles in 8.48 with Nembhard 2nd (8.82) and Columbia's Ashley Newby 3rd in 8.94.
The Mile Run went to Philadelphia High's Brittany Jackson (5:32.15) with Arielle Moylen of Montclair (5:47.21) and Tellisha Williams of McNair Academic following. Another Brittany Jackson, this one from Columbia HS was victorious in the 800 meters with a time of 2:27.97. Jade Wilson took 2nd (2:31.04) with 3rd place going to Kemian Atkins of Dover (2:33.32).
In the Field, Raquel Vassel racked up the Hat Trick with her win in the Long Jump (5.43m). Ryisha Boyd of Brick Twp. Was 2nd (5.14m) and Stephanie McLean of Willingboro took 3rd with a jump of 5.0m. Bianca Stewart of Columbia was the winner of the High Jump competition at 5'6". She was followed by team mate Newby at 5'4" and Trenton's Dayton (5'0").
On the Boys side, Dean McClesse of Trenton Central took the 55 meters in 6.6, followed by Quinton McLean of Dover (6.76) and Willie Rodriguez of Ocean Twp. (6.77).
Paul Jones-Burden of Rahway took a close 200 meters in 23.03 over Darren Brown of Snyder (23.07) with Omari Holtz of Montclair 3rd in 23.34. The 400 meters saw Chris Cox of Monmouth Reg. win in 50.53, with Sean Troop of South Shore (NY) 2nd and Ty Fulton of Trenton 3rd (50.67). Kemar Clark of South Shore (NY) won the 55m HH with a time of 7.54. He was followed by Ty Fulton of Trenton Central (7.55) and Rahdel Savage of Roselle (7.89).
Mike Keebler of Holy Spirit (Absecon) came north to take the Mile Run in 4:32.88. Tanqueer Quasi of McNair Academic was 2nd (4:40.95) and Mike Wardenski of St. Joe's took 3rd in 4:49.92. The 800 meters went to Kyle Caldwell of Dover in 2:05.62. Antonio Abney was 2nd in 2:06.27 with Jhamil Ervin of Weequahic 3rd in 2:09.39
Fresh off of his Mercer County record leap, Devon Bond of Trenton Central took the High Jump at 6'8" Frank Thompson, also of Trenton took 2nd at 6'6" and Andre Moore of Lenape finished in 3rd (6'2"). The Long Jump went to Savage of Roselle, who leapt 6.8m. He was followed by Carl Luxhoj of St. Joe's (6.58m) and Holtz of Montclair (6.44m).
