Girls!
The girls meet was full of great performances. Not one but TWO meet records were broken Monday night at the Passarelli Invitational in Madison, NJ. In the Pole Vault Marlena Paz of West Morris Central vaulted to a height of 11-04! Not only a NJ#4 and US#11, but it was enough to break a meet record from back in 2010 set by Kirsten Muhaw of Montville at 10-09.
The other meet record came courtesy of the Mendham star senior Mackenzie Barry who broke her own meet record set last year by over five and a half seconds. She would finish first in the 3200m with a time of 10:52.96! This is the 2014 Indoor Season's NJ#1 time by far with #2 clocking at 11:15.16 ran by Dana Klein at the Somerset County Champs this past friday. Nationally Barry's 10:52.96 performance ranks US#4! The 3200m times from this meet are worth a look below, bunch of top NJ times.
These weren't meet records but Emily Cowan of Columbia had a field day winning both the 300m and 600m in top NJ and National times. She won the 300m in a time of 41.46 for NJ#2 where she was followed by NJ#3 and #4 Edobi and Bisiolu of Union! Cowan of Columbia would come back in the 600m and win with a NJ#2 US#6 time of 1:37.27! She was once again followed by Edobi of Union HS who was right on her heels at 1:37.66 a NJ#3 US#9 time!

Boys!
Mendham didn't only have record breaking success on the girls' side. Junior sprinter Christian Kildal-Brandt won the 600m dash with a meet record time of 1:23.11. The old record was set in 2005, which seems like a decent age for records now a days, a time of 1:24.21 by Roxbury's Jason Apwah. The 600m time is a current NJ#1 and is a US#9!
In the field Josuah Nijman of Columbia continues to take NJ Shot Put by storm with a NJ#1 US#3 mark of 59-11.75!! Huge personal best, he already won the SEC Championships with a 57-8 and the Bishop Loughlin Games with a 56-10.25 so far this indoor.
