2006 Boys Runner of the Year
Craig Forys – Colts Neck HS (Sr.)

To say that Craig Forys had a great Cross Country season is a gross understatement. The Michigan bound senior from Colts Neck had what can only be described as an all time season. Consider the following;
• Undefeated in Invitational and Championship racses
• Repeated as the NJ All Groups Champ
• Set Course Records on virtually every venue he set his spikes on
• 15:16 @ Holmdel Park (Breaking a mark as venerable as DiMaggios streak)
• 12:10.7 @ VCP ( Smashing the CR held by the legendary Brad Hudson)
• Footlocker Northeast Regional Champ

Boys Coach of the Year
Steve Theobald – Jackson Memorial HS

Underdogs from the get go, the Jackson Boys Cross Country team won when they were supposed to win and ended their season with a convincing win at the Meet of Champions. Using 3 different lineups in the last 5 championship meets the Jag scorers, with the exception of #1 man Carle, were interchangeable. Although Theobald will lose his top 2 to graduation, he will return a strong senior class with juniors Monroe Kearns, Austin Santillo, Ben Forrest, Anthony Meleo, and Ed McQuade, all members of the MOC team.

Freshman Boy ROY
Jonathan "Boo" Vitez – Haddonfield Memorial HS

A member of a much heralded freshman group at Haddonfield, Vitez emerged as the
best freshman in the state as an integral part of the Group 2 champions (11th place).
Vitez scored a seasonal best Holmdel time of 16:49 while placing 42nd at MOC.
