Bergen County Meet of Champions - FULL RESULTS / PICTURES!

On the boys side the race was won by Bobby Corcoran of Indian Hills in an impressive time of 15:46, a personal best for the Braves's senior. Corcoran ran 15:55 the week before at the Bergen County Group Championships for 4th place. There were four others who made the under 16-minute effort: Ian Clark of Old Tappan (15:51), William Daly of River Dell (15:55), Colin Daly of Riverdell (15:56) and Patrick Sullivan of Don Bosco Prep (15:56)!
Team wise the Indian Hills squad just couldn't hold onto the early lead provided by Bobby Corcoran who finished 1st, they would place second on the day. Don Bosco Prep led by sophomore Patrick Sullivan who placed 5th and senior Michael Higgins who placed 6th with a time of 16:03 would go on to take the team championship. This is a long streak continued for Don Bosco as they have won this meet consecutively since 2006!!! Awesome work by Don Bosco! A team average of 16:11!! And a point total of 52 points were the standard that day. The 5-6-9-15-17 run was finished by Zack Weland (9th / 16:10), Connor Nicholson (17th / 16:22), and Luke Novak (19th / 16:26).

With the girls race we saw Josette Norris of Tenafly win her 5th straight race this season! She's undefeated so far for XC'2013. Her winning time was an 18-minute breaking 17:57.
Second place was where the team championship for Ridgewood started; sophomore Sam Halvorsen ran a great person best of 18:49 to finish 2nd leading her team. Right behind her was her teammate Carleen Jeffers who also ran a personal best of 18:50! Ridgewood would go on to finish with a team average of 19:18, and take the 2-3-9-11-18 point spots. This was their third straight Bergen MOC Championship! The early attack was huge but they wouldn't be there if the team didn't finish off the Top 5 strong either; Vanessa Reis took 9th in 19:20, Olympia Martin 13th with 19:31, and Gene Felsenstein took 20th with a 20:02 run. Even the 5th spot on the team was a battle as their 6th runner Leah Rosenfeld was right there with Felsenstein in 21st with 20:02.
