It is hot and humid here at Frank Jost Field in South Plainfield. We are all doing the "No Rain" dance, hoping to avoid delays or postponement. NJRunners is on site to bring you update, photos and videos of the action at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions.

The first races this afternoon will be the exhibition 4x800m and 4x100m Relays. These races will be followed by the 400m Hurdle championships.
*** Jeremy Elkaim runs 8:46.08 to win 3200m. Outkicks Joe Rosa (8:48.55) in final lap duel. Both men ran virtually together throughout the race Elkaim moved with approx. 250m to go and got enough daylight on Rosa to close the deal. Mike Mazzaccaro 3rd (9:02.46) and Boo Vitez (Haddonfield) 9:06.47. Elkaim's time shatters the MR set by Craig Forys of VColts Neck in 2007.

In the Girls 3200m, Megan Venables of Highland Reg. held off a late move by Colette Whitney of Voorhees for the winin 10:37.49 to The Voorhees senior's 10:44.43 mark. Whitney surged past Venables with 400m to go, but the winner fought back and finished up with a comfortable gap on Whitney.
Michelle Brown winns 400m in 55.52 over Franklin's Fafavi Lumax (55.88)
Boys 400m went to St. Peter'e Prep junior Najee Glass (47.65) to take the measure of Keith Griffith (47.81) and Clayton Gravesende of franklin (48.35)
Ajee Wilson and Brad Paternostro take the 800m titles. Wilson runs 2:04.94 to best Brittany Jackson (Columbia) who ran 2:08.17. 6 Girls go under 2:10.
Paternostro wins by a little over a second in 1:51.86 to Patrick Rono's 1:52.92. Rono doubled back from a 7th (4:14.70) the 1600.
200's - Myasia Jacobs completes the double in 23.73 while Zamir Thomas takes the boys race in 21.19
