BOYS HIGHLIGHTS

Chris Short came up big for Demarest by winning the 55 dash in 6.71, placing second in the 400 and running on the winning 4x400 as the Norsemen outscored runner-up Old Tappan, 72-61. Jack Attali led a 1-2-3 finish for Demarest in the 55 hurdles with his winning time of 7.3, and Liam Paneque also came up with a victory for Demarest in the high jump )6-2).

Owen Horevay of Lakeland pulled off an impressive distance double by winning the 3,200 in 9:34.26, the fastest time in all the sectional meets combined and captured the 1m600 in 4:20.99.

GIRLS HIGHLIGHTS

Christina Allen left lots of smoke on the track after completing a great distance triple to ignite River Dell to the team championship, 66-53 over Mahwah.

Allen, a junior, finished first in the 800 with a time of 2:21.01, she won the 1600 in 5:21.40, and she struck gold in the 3,200 by running 11:14.70. River Dell also received a victory from Grace McQueeny in the high jump (4-10).

BOYS HIGHLIGHTS

Luke Schagelin was the catalyst for Morris Knolls as the junior won the 400 in 50.22, ran on the winning 4x400, and placed third in the 800 as propel his team to a 74-35 over Ramapo. Morris Knolls also received a victory from senior John Robinson in the pole vault (13-0).

GIRLS HIGHLIGHTS

Junior star Natasha Redmond was a triple winner and Morgan Ryerson had a big meet to ignite Mount Olive to a 55-41 over Northern Highlands.

Redmond won the 55 dash in 7.26, captured the 400 in 58.67, and ran on Mount Olive's winning 4x400 relay. Ryerson finished first in the 55 hurdles in 8.33, the top time of all the sectionals combined, and cleared 5-2 to place second in the high jump.
