It was hardly Camelot, but Joe Lanzalotto and three of the best High School XC and Track writers in the state met on Wednesday night to do what we all love to do...Talk about our sport. Look and listen as  Joe , Paul Schwartz (Bergen Record), Rich Bevensee (Star-Ledger) and Jim Lambert (Star-Ledger)

All 3 parts of this discussion will be available right here, so keep coming back for everything you'll need to know for this weekend and beyond.

Part One - An Overview of the 2011 Season

Part Two - More Observations & Predictions for Boys Groups

Part Three - Girls Previews / Boys Individuals

The Finale - Last Thoughts

This video was filmed at the Westfield Running Co. store, a great place for all of your running needs. Thanks to Tim and Dave Styler, Tom Poland and the staff of the Westfield Running Co. for making this possible. Anf of course my personal thanks to Joe Lanzalotto, Jim Lambert, Rich Bevensee and Paul Schwartz for sharing their vast knowledge and experience.

    This was a great conversation. Thank you for sharing this and for the Westfield Running Company for sponsoring it. If this had been publicized more people would have liked to attend and participated in the event.

    Looking forward to the last two parts. But when are we going to see them. Groups are early Saturday Morning. Tomorrow is Friday!

    Part 2 is posted and Part 3 will be up early tomorrow morning.
    Thanks for the kind words.

    We plan to do more events like this in the future,
    with much more publicity.

    Really enjoyed these. As a lifetime Garret Mtn person, I found the Thompson course to be much more spectator and media friendly - More like a midwestern course. Think the move to Thompson should be permanent.

    While I think Garret will "always" be the Sectional course for North 1, do not be surprised to see Groups and/or MOC going to Thompson in the next few years.

    Thanks for the kind words on the video. We hope to more events like this in the future.

    @PFFlyer

    I hope this is open to debate.

    Most people I know feel the same way - Thompson is great for spectators but Holmdel is Holmdel. However, the move would not be made voluntarily. Holmdel is VERY expensive and constantly becoming more so. It is clear they do not want the meets in their park. With Burzichelli hamstringing the NJSIAA by restricting the entrance fees for state tournaments it has become very difficult for the NJSIAA to make ends meet.

    Thompson also does off better parking logistics.

    One thought about saving money - move the football championships out of Giants' Stadium; you would think that could save a few bucks.

    @jlanza

    Wow I didn't realize all of this was going on behind the scenes. What is Burzichelli problem?

    Its sad football championships get Giants Stadium and XC is begging for a venue for the premiere event.

    I don't get how they do not want these events.

    Thanks for the behind the scenes insight.

    Seriously the best thing you can do to get the poop on the Burzichelli story is Google his name and NJSIAA.
