#1-Voorhees

Second at last year's MOC, Coach Justina Cassavell's Lady Vikings lost only 1 runner to graduation. The still young squad returns a team with an Holmdel average of 19:26. They will be led by junior Nisa Cicitta (NJ #12 Returner) and boast a very close pack that gives them a scant 28 second gap between their 2nd and 5th runners. Could this be the year that Voorhees returns the title to Glen Gardner?

#2-Hillsborough

The 2 time defending Champs entered the last 2 seasons as underdogs and emerged at the top of the MOC podium each time. Perhaps the 3rd time is the charm for a 3peat. The Lady Raiders return 3 seniors and a junior to the projected lineup, so there is experience coming in. Led by a top 3 (Kelly Janokowicz, Mary Dombrowski & Ally Cady) that will put the squad in a great position, Coach Rich Refi needs to shore up the 4-5 spots. Do not underestimate the "underdogs".

#3-Cherokee

Led by the top returning Girls runner, Megan Lacy, Cherokee will start most races with an extremely low number. The team, which made the podium  with a 6th place finish at the 2010 MOC, comes back with a veteran team with a very close pack at #s 2-3-4 (31 sec gap). Coach Mark Jarvis will need to identify a solid #5 for the Lady Chiefs to make some noise in November.

#4 Ridge

Tim Mooney has a tough row to hoe. Ridge, which often times flys under the radar, gets to race in probably the toughest Girls conference in the State (Skylands), With the addition of Hillsborough to the North 1 Section they now will face the defending champs four times prior to the MOC. Talk about brutal. Ridge returns a solid team of all seniors. They have a Holmdel average of 20:30 and can make a real impact on that number with stepped up performances at the #s 4 & 5. With the competition they will face during the regular season, Ridge will be tough as nails during mid November.

#5 Red Bank Catholic

Another team that made a podium appearance last year (3rd), the Caseys hope to make a return trip to the medal stand in 2011.  The defending Non Public "A" champs have lost Molly McNamara who was 6th (4th in team scoring) at MOC to graduation and Stanford, but Rob DeFilippis has a solid unit coming back this year. Led by the senior trio of Liane Marzano, Lindsey Belleran and Mary Kate Byrne (1-3 represents only a 12 sec gap over the Holmdel layout), RBC will be tough if the #s 4 4&5 can get down closer to the lead pack.
