BOYS RECAP

SPRINT EVENTS

In the 60m dash it would be Dayvion Clark taking the win with a margin of victory just shy of a tenth of a second with his time of 7.04. This mark currently ranks him third in the state behind Jaidyn Johnson and Ohio State commit Dominic Calhoun. This would be the first of two wins for him on Saturday with Clark tripling in the 60m, 200m, and 400m. His second event win would come from the 200m dash with a 23.10 (also IN #3) before placing sixth in the 400m with a time of 55.28. In the 60m hurdles Duke commit Andres Langston and Chris Korthuis would both be the sole entrants to break the 9 second barrier with 8.77 (IN #15) and 8.87 (IN #17) efforts respectively from the duo.

MID-DISTANCE EVENTS

The 400m event was a won by Laporte's Willie Clay who finished very close with New Haven's Aaron Hoffer. The boys would be separated by just three hundredths of a second with Clay securing the win with a 53.46. They rank 10th and 11th in the state so far for this season. In the 800m, also from Laporte, was Liam Lilly who would take the 800m by just over a second with a time of 2:03.06 which is good for 5th in the state currently. 

DISTANCE EVENTS

Mason Nobles from Valparaiso would come close to the top Indiana time run for the 1600m this season as he was only .16 seconds off of Aaron Richter's state leading mark of 4:22.25. Mason would be the lone competitor to run under 4:30 in the field with his converted time of 4:20.73 from the Hoka Mile at the Misfits Invite This time currently ranks him second in the state, just ahead of Jack Strong from Noblesville who won the Indiana Runner Opener the weekend prior at Taylor University. In the 3200m Luke Kincaid from Bremen would take the 3200 with a 10:16 in a solo effort where he would lap the field in route to victory.

FIELD EVENTS

In the field events University of Notre Dame commit and Heritage Christian standout Luke Himes and Warsaw's Jordan Randall would have national level performances in the shot put and high jump and both lead the state. Their performances were highlighted earlier this week and can be found here. Himes is also up for National Performer of the Week so make sure to vote for him here.

In the Long Jump Chris Korthuis would win by nearly 5 inches with a leap of 20' 8.75" after running in the 60m and 200m earlier in the day. This jump was just off his best effort of the season a week prior at the Indiana Runner Opener where he jumped 21 feet even to place himself 7th on the state leaderboard. Over at the Pole Vault Army commit Eli Griffin (Homesteadand Lincoln Hulsey from LaVille would both vault to a height of 14' 6" with the tiebreaker going to Griffin. Both are currently tied for 2nd in the state behind IU Bloomington commit Peyton McQuinn who vaulted to a height of 15' 5" at the University of Michigan High School Invitational.
