In the Mixed 800, Zeb Hinker of Lower Cape May Regional HS finished with the fastest time of the night. Hinker ran a 2:02.18 and paced the last heat to many PR's, such as Cherokee's Joshua Pawlik (2:02.83) and Cinnaminson HS freshman Ryan Malinowski. Malinowski's 2:04.48 is the 7th fastest 800m time by any freshman in New Jersey this season.

Kingsway HS junior Aubrey Pierontoni claimed the fastest girl's 800m time of the night, running a 2:21.32. Pierontoni finished 4th in Group 4 South with her 1600m time of 5:09.56 and will be competing in the Group 4 Championship this week.

Other noteworthy girls 800m performances include Rancocas Valley Regional HS sophomore Sabrina Paz (2:26.76) and Haddonfield Memorial's Sabrina Miller (2:25.34), Maya Carey (2:27.36) and Anna Stolarick (2:28.60).

Cinnaminson HS junior Matt McCarron finished at the top for boys 1600m times, being the only runner to break the 4:30 barrier. Shawnee HS sophomore Eli Mackey was not far behind McCarron with his new personal best time of 4:30.30, followed by Cherokee's Joseph Natoli (4:31.80) and freshman Liam Tindall (4:32.52). The sky's the limit for Tindall, as his impressive PR slots him into the 7th best 1600m time in the New Jersey spring season. Kaylie Ranere of Hammonton HS came out on top with the fastest girls 1600m time, with a new PR of 5:30.33.

While Cherokee's night of racing closed the spring season for many, the meet also delivered flashes of young talent just waiting to break out next year.
