All summer we'll be treating Saturdays as meet days and look back to some of our best races caught on camera from the 2016 cross country season. Today relive the 2016 Bergen County Meet of Champions.
This was an intense weekend of action for Bergen County. On the boys side David Rosas of Don Bosco ran a wicked fast 15:15 to win the individual title and ranks fifth all-time at Darlington. Team wise the Indian Hills boys stepped up for their own historic win scoring a dominating 28 points and averaging the second fastest time in course history with 15:40. That ended a 10 year winning streak for Don Bosco.
The girls team title went to Northern Highlands, their first since 1991, with a total score of 64 points and an average of 19:21. Individually Olympia Martin of Ridgewood brought home gold with her 17:56, top ten in course history and leading her team to a third place finish.
