East Orange Campus (NJ) 28.62 and Western Branch (VA) 28.64 provided the crowd an instant classic in the shuttle hurdle relay on Saturday at New Balance Indoor Nationals. These squads are now first and second all-time nationally.

After the gun went off East Orange took it out early but Western Branch fought back to make it an exciting battle to the line, a national championship that was decided by .02. Both absolutely destroyed the previous national record of 29.20 held by Union Catholic when they won the national title in 2013.

The East Orange boys were made up of Akeem Lindo, Cory Poole, Altraiq Dunson, Ibrahim Fobay. Cory Poole had just threw down an individual New Jersey state record time of 7.63 before this in the prelims of the 60 meter hurdles.

Western Branch had a squad of all seniors with Micaiah Harris, Garry Williams, Jahkwan Blackley, and Kavante Dawson.

New Jersey finished very well in this event with four of the top six! CBA was fourth with a 30.12, Hunterdon Central fifth 30.24, and Jackson Memorial sixth 30.26.
