Week 2 Highlights | Bring on Those National Rankings

Written 12/27/2016, the ranking notes in the recap represent the rankings as of 12/26/2016.

The Howell girls ran the first sub-10 time in the 4x800 meter of the season, posting a 9:59.32 for the win NJ#1. On the boys side Freehold Twp ran 8:12.32 for NJ#2 US#3.

Josh Ward of South Plainfield cleared 14-0 in the pole vault for NJ#2, that is his first competition of the indoor season, won the 2016 Meet of Champions with a 14-6 vault. 


In the 55 meter hurdles Juan Alejandro of Perth Amboy went for NJ#3 this season with a 7.57, that is a major PR for him having never gone under 7.75 before. 

Megan Quimby of Lenape Regional continued her great start to the season winning the 1600 meter with a 5:12.08. She's already posted a 5:11.70 which has her as the state leader so far this winter.  

And lastly another noted highlight goes to Dakota Gerges of Sayreville who won the 400 meter dash with a 60.59 NJ#5.
