Drew Hunter Runs Four Seconds Off 1500m Olympic Trials Standard

Indoor mile national record holder Drew Hunter ran 3:42.42 for 1500m on Friday night at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University in Princeton, N.J.

Hunter's official splits were: 45.04, 1:00.13, 59.04, 58.82.

The time ranks No. 8 All-Time. His own 3:41.93 ranks No. 3 All-Time; that mark was set en route to his 3:57 indoor mile record at the Millrose Games. The national high school record is 3:38.26, set by Alan Webb in 2001, and the Olympic Trials standard is 3:38.00.

Hunter finished third in the field behind Sam Penzenstadler and Garrett O'Toole of Princeton.
