Favored going in Bill Massey of Montclair Kimberley Academy still had his hands full with a close knit field but came out on top with a 16:52 for his first cross country state title. Massey had the lead by the end of the second mile and didn't relinquish it from there despite having freshmen Acasio Pinheiro of The Wilberforce School on his shoulder. Pinheiro finished second with a time of 16:54. With both returning in 2016 we get to enjoy this duel again next year as Massey attempts to defend his title.

Montclair Kimberley Academy (MKA) may have scored the one card through Massey but Newark Academy had other plans in the team race. With only one runner scoring top ten, John Capobianco at 17:26, Newark Academy posted a solid 51 second split between their top five and won 70 to 88 over defending champion MKA. This was Newark Academy's first state team title.
