MileSplit produces the most complete database of high school track & field and cross country statistics in the United States. To ensure we are keeping a high standard of accuracy and timeliness, we are adding rankings to the Milesplit Insider offering. We will be making this change on March 3rd, and with it will be adding more members to our stats team to reach our goals.
There's even more good news…other states that have added rankings to the subscription offering have experienced increased coverage in those states. Most recently Milesplit provided/will be providing live video coverage at four different indoor state championships (MI, PA, OH and VA); a first for Milesplit. We will continue to become more comprehensive in our coverage and that means more video, more photos, more stories, and more attention for the best sport there is.

There is soon to be a change with the basic New Jersey MileSplit rankings. As of Monday March 3rd the entire National network will be locking the basic rankings for subscriber access only; NJ was of the handful of states that still had them open for free. In the long run I hope everyone can see that subscription income is what keeps the site in existence and your support makes sure that there are such accurate rankings to view.
NJ MileSplit has had a great number of years so far and this change is necessary to keep providing the great stat rankings and coverage we strive for as well as to push those goals even further.

Attention Coaches!
For the coaches who confirm your performances for the state meets you will not require a subscription to confirm your seedings. There are still plenty of ways for coaches to confirm performances for free. I have already brought this to the attention of the NJSIAA.

Every athlete profile's STAT FEED will remain open for free. (As seen here)
Coaches can easily see every performance from the current season on this feed. Only the career stats are locked and have been for a while now. -

anking articles can be produced on a weekly basis, [Leading up to the meet] I can post the top protected and bubble marks in each event so that protected performances can be viewed rankings style. (As seen here but not as deep) - Relay performances can be viewed for free on every team page under "Relay" (As seen here)
Other features than the basic rankings will remain as is. The career stats and the advanced rankings have already been locked for a while now. Again coaches are not required to buy a subscription to confirm their performances for the state meets. To confirm coaches should be looking at the athlete's stat feed and their team's own relay page to confirm they are attached correctly. Lastly this doesn't affect Online Registration that is a free feature.
This being said, if you do choose to support the site and subscribe you will be given access to a whole network of statistics as well as athletes' career statistics and progression. Virtual meets would be accessible for scouting other teams and so on. Some great tools for coaching in a competitive state. Plus it is always good to know where you rank among the rest of the teams in the area.
