UIL 2A Boys All-State Second Team

14 Jhoan Menjivar (Plains)

Menijivar part of the Plains young dynamic duo that led them to a third place podium team finish. He was second at his district meet before finishing second at Region 1-2A in a three mile PR. He was 14th at state with a 17:15 5K PR.

13 Lonnie Cooper (Tioga)

Cooper won his district meet and was 14th at Region 2-2A and 13th at the state meet.

12 Koy Torres (Sundown)

Torres was 17th at Region 1-2A, but when state came he ran his best. Over a minute improvement at the state meet, he was able to get a 17:12 PR.

11 Dylan Tovar (Poolville)

Tovar was a big piece to the Poolville team championship puzzle. He was a low scoring machine every meet, especially with his fifth place finish at Region 2-2A and 11th place at state. Tovar improved time wise by over 30 seconds through the championship season..

10 Caleb Lengefeld (Hamilton)

Legnefeld has been a podium finisher two times prior to this season. He continued that success this year with his ninth place state meet performance. He was strong all year long running big time races against runners from the larger classifications. He was runner-up at Region 2-2A as well as the top runner on a strong Hamilton team that finished runner-up on the podium.

9 Evan Plata (Tenaha)

Plata had a consistent 2021 season and was one of East Texas' top runners. He was a top 10 finisher at every meet including his Region 3-2A runner-up finish. He followed that up with a 16:55 at state for an eighth place finish.

8 Jose Garcia (Cushing)

Cushing didn't qualify for state last year after a 36th place Region3-2A finish. This year, things were totally different as he won the region to ensure his qualification. That enabled him the opportunity to get his best state meet finish of 10th place.
