Entry and Info

To maintain the integrity of this event serving as a true New Jersey middle school state championship the following eligibility rules will be in affect:
only student athletes who are enrolled in Grades 6, 7, or 8 in a school located within New Jersey state boundaries may participate in the championship races. 3-6 graders will compete in the Rising Stars race. 6th graders may participate in either race.
any athlete entered on a school's roster for this meet must be an eligible team member of the school. Eligibility shall be determined by the school.
athlete's not representing a school team will compete as unattached and not factor into the team scoring.
The event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field. Where applicable, USATF competition rules will be in affect.
Each school can enter one team in each race. The maximum number of athletes that can be entered and # of scorers is as follows:

Team scoring will not be tabulated in the Rising Stars races ( 3rd/4th grade and 5th/6th).
Championship Awards
The individual winners in the Middle School Championship will be presented with the State Champion trophy. Medals will be awarded to the top 20 finishers in the championship races. The top three teams in the championship race will be recognized with each athlete on the top 3 teams receiving a medal. The winning teams will be presented with the State Championship trophy.

Rising Stars (3-6 grade) Awards
The top 20 finishers in the following divisions will receive medals:
3-4 grade girls
3-4 grade boys
5-6 grade girls
5-6 grade boys
Packet Pickup 8:30 - 11:00am
Course Walk 9:15 am

Rising Stars Races (3-6 grade)
Girls 10:00 am
Boys 10:30 am

Middle School Championships
Girls 11:00 pm
Boys 11:30 pm

Awards 12:00 pm
3 km course

The athletes will run on pavement for approx. 200m so my recommendation is to wear flats (not spikes). The stretch on the pavement is in the last 600m of the race as they exit the Wild Safari park area.
