Please note that this is not the official release of the team wild cards. This is our yearly merge coverage presented after the conclusion of the meet. Those wild cards, both team and individuals, are being finalized by the NJSIAA and will be announced on NJ MileSplit as soon as they are available. They plan to announce official Meet of Champions advancing individuals and teams by Monday before noon the latest.
With the merge we take every performance from Group Championships on Saturday and re-score them as a brand new virtual meet.
Jack Stanley and Jack Jennings, the Mendham Jack Attack, led the meet overall with times of 15:45 and 15:52 from Group 3! The only two individuals to go under 16 minutes on Saturday. Defending Meet of Champions winner Devin Hart ranked third overall at 16:00 winning his Group 2 title.
On the team front Kingsway boys had the best performance scoring 225.5 points in the merge, splitting 36 seconds, and averaging 16:49! CBA and Westfield weren't far behind ranked second and third with 235 points and 239. CBA didn't unleash their full squad for Groups however, will be interesting to see how much faster they will go at the Meet of Champions next week.
For the girls Abby Loveys moved up to 11th all-time at Holmdel Park, 10th among New Jersey runners, at 17:52 to win the Group 4 title. Alexa Westley, Chloe Gonzalez, Nicole Vanasse, and Emily Nugent all under 18:40 to make the rest of the top five performances.
As expected North Hunterdon girls led the meet overall with 134.5 points in the merge, averaging 19:18. Ridgewood, 204.5, South Brunswick, 248, and Metuchen, 290.5, all scored under 300 points in the merge to make up the top four teams.
