HORNET MEN DOMINATE 1600 RELAY AT PRINCETON MEET

Dover, Del. (Dec. 10, 2012) --- Delaware State took first and second place in the men's 1600-meter relay at the Princeton New Year's Indoor Invitational on Sunday.

The Hornet team of Charles Wulff-Cochrane, Ryan Carter, Kevaughn Laviea and Stephen Bowe topped the field with a time three-minutes-21.34 seconds.

A second Delaware State team of Alpha Mansara, Bryan Pointer, Terrell and Andre Henry was runner-up in the race, posting a time of 3:23.36.

The nearest team to the DSU runners was Rutgers at 3:24.48.

Delaware State's Oliver was also third in the mile run with a time of 4:29.00.

The Hornets also received a third place finish from David Okeke in the final of the 60 meter dash. Okeke posted a finals time of 7.09 seconds, trailing only John Hill of Princeton (6.93) and Kadeem Douse of Rutgers (6.96).

DSU's Ryan Carter was clocked at 6.98 in the 60 meter preliminaries, but did not run in the final.

Delaware State's Bryan Pointer was seventh in the 600-meter run at 1:23.56.
