NJ High School XC Athletes of the Week
Week Ending 10/9/11
Due to Sunday racing this past week, our calendar is slightly out of kilter, but the racing and competition surely wasn't, as New Jersey's XC attention turned to New York's Van Cortlandt Park, the site of one of the oldest and biggest meets in the country. The Manhattan Invitational was the venue for both of our Athleyes of the Week. Who will be awarded the stlylish, limited edition Tee Shirts this week. Check it out and let us know what you thnk.

Caroline, who finished second to NY superstar Mary Cain in the "E" at The Manhattan Invitational, recorded the fastes time of the day among Jersey Girls with her mark of 15:04.1.

This Week:
For the 3rd consecutive week, Edward broke a not inconsequential course record. This time it was over the venerable, albeit altered, Van Cortlandt Park 2.5 mile layout. Cheserek, who previously broke CRs at Garret Mtn. Reservation and Holmdel Park. ran 11:55.4 to become the first runner to go under 12 minutes at VCP and broke the record of 12:03.8 (2009)
