NXN Regionals

 

 

NXN Northwest, ID - Katie Knight defeats in-state rival Amy Eloise-Neale with a course record time of 17:34 in the girls championship race while Neale ran 17:44.2.  Ann Marie Maag was 3rd in 17:52.1.  The Crusader Harriers (Jesuit OR) won the girls championship title with 91 points over the Bozeman XC Club (Bozeman MT), who scored 94 points.  US#11 Kenji Bierig won the boys championship crown to add to his Washington 4A state crown with a narrow victory over Vince Hamilton, 15:34.1 to 15:35.9!  It was all Washington in Idaho as North Spokane XC Club (North Central WA) won the boys race with 76 points over the South Central XC Club (Lewis and Clark WA), who scored 103 points and the Yakima Harriers (Eisenhower WA), who scored 114 points. 

 

 

 

NXN Heartland, SD -(11/14) Lopez Lamong at the pasta dinner | Tony Smoragiewicz InterviewAllison Woodward Interview | Shawnee Mission InterviewGirls Championship: Allison Woodward won the girls race with a time of 17:35.40 with Shelby Houlihan and Pipenburg in 2nd and 3rd.  Woodwards time places her fourth among the top 10 all times.  Eden Prairie won the girls team title over Dowling Catholic with Monticello in 3rd.  More details coming!  Boys Championship: Tony Smoragiewicz won the boys race in 15:16.76 setting a new course record.  Wayzata won the boys team race with Edina taking 2nd with 131 points.  Shawnee Mission Northwest and Eden Prairie are on the bubble with both teams finishing with 149 points.

NXN Midwest, IN - (11/14) Boys Preview | Girls Preview | Course Preview(video) | Girls Championship: Samantha Nightingale, MO, is leading going into the mile with a time of 5:32.  Going into the last 3K Nightingale, Beattie and Thomas are in a pack of 3 at the front.  Beattie is now in the lead by 15 metes after an 11:18 2 mile.  14:03 through 4K for BeattieKayla Beattie, IL, is the NXN MW girls champion with a time of 17:45.7!  Samantha Nightingale, MO, was 2nd (17:51.6) and Michelle Thomas, OH, finishes 3rd 17:52.9.  Palentine, IL, won the team title with 72 points closely followed by Code Red Carmel with 74 points.Boys Championship: Boys race is off!  Zach Wills, OH, is out in front off the gun with Jack Driggs, IL, by his side off the start and continue to lead through 1K in 2:52!  Lukas Verzbicas, IL, has moved into third.  4:45 through the mile with Lukas in the lead!  Wills is now 2nd with Driggs 3rd.  Entering two miles it is Verzbicas, Wills, and Brajdic, OH, single file.  8:45 3k for the leaders.  Verzbicas is rolling on the downhills now with Wills and Brajdic in tow.  11:46 through 4k for Lukas VerzbicasLukas Verzbicas, IL is the NXN MW boys champion with a time of 14:53.1 to break Chris Derrick's course record of 14:54!  Jack Driggs, IL, got up for 2nd with a time of 15:05.2 with Zach Wills, OH, 3rd (15:06.2) and Chris Walden, IN, 4th (15:07.5)Kroy, IL, won the boys championship race with 140 points in an impressive display of team running.  Columbus Thorn finished 2nd with 146 points.

Alabama State Championships, AL - 6A girls: Carmen Carlos, McGill-Toole, crushed the field with a time of 17:49.70 to be the only girl in the race under 19!  Mountain Brook won the team crown with 30 points.  6A boys: Brandon Hazouri, Spain Park, won the individual title with a time of 15:45.12.  Mountain Brook completed the sweep with a boys team score of 52 points.  5A girls: Rachel Roberts, John Carroll, won with a time of 18:32.  Scottsboro won the team title with 30 points.  5A boys: Stuart Graham, St. Paul's Episcopal, won with a time of 16:05.75 while Scottsboro won the team title with 36 points.  4A girls: Claire Kennedy, UMS-Wright, won individually with a time of 19:08.74 while UMS-Wright won the team title with just 18 points.  4A boys: Fabian Cortez, Haleyville, won with a time of 17:08 and UMS-Wright won with 62 points.  3A girls: Karisa Nelson, TR Miller, won with a time of 18:41.54 while Rogers won the team title with 42 points.  3A boys: Hudson Robb, Randolph, won the individual title with a time of 16:29.20 to lead Randolph to a dominating victory with 18 points.  1A-2A girls: Analisa Patrick, American Christian Academy, won with a time of 18:50.94 as American Christian Academy won with 37 points.  1A-2A boys: Conor Rector, American Christian Academy, won the boys race in 16:56.78 while Hatton won the team title with 71 points.    

 

 

 

Delaware State Championships, DE - Division 2: Haley Pierce, Tatnall, won the individual title with a time of 18:35.83 over Lindsey Olivere, Archmere, 18:56.30.  US#6 Tatnall was as impressive as ever, winning with 19 points after putting 5 in the top-6.  In the boys race Travis Payne, Delaware Military Academy, won with a time of 16:27.62 while the Tatnall boys also won in impressive fashion with 30 points.  Division 1: Julie Macedo, Charter, won the girls race with a time of 18:52.03 as Charter won the team crown with 27 points.  In the boys race Tommy Zabielski, Salesianum, won with a time of 17:10.61 as Salesianum dominated with 18 points. 

 

 

 

Kentucky State Championships, KY - Live updates | Photos | AAA: Evan Ehrenheim, Daviess County, won the boys race with a time of 15:33.24 while Trinity won the team title with 91 points.  Emma Brink, Sacred Heart, won the girls race with a time of 18:27.71 while Assumption won the girls team title with 66 points.  AA: Jared Skrabacz, South Warren, won the boys race with a time of 16:16.70 while North Oldham won with 86 points.  In the girls race Caterina Karas, Collins, won with a time of 18:11.92.  A: Dominic Perronie, Holy Cross, won the boys race with a time of 16:15.03 while St. Henry won the team title with 78 points.  Maddox Patterson, Sayre, won the girls race with a time of 18:25.34 while Fairview won the team title with 74 points.

Maryland State Championships, MD - 4A girls: Anna Ryba, Whitman, won the individual title in 19:16 as Whitman won the team title with 70 points.  4A boys: Chris Miller, Northwest, won the individual title in 16:09 as Walter Johnson won the team battle with 74 points.  3A girls: Erin Causey, Hereford, won the individual title with a time of 19:59 while Hereford also dominated the team race with 48 points.  3A boys: Mason Rivera, Hereford, won the boys title with a time of 16:27 to lead Hereford to the team title with 63 points.   

 

 

 

Massachusetts Division Championships, MA - Central | John Murray, Shrewsbury, won the Division 1 race with a time of 14:15.5 over the 2.9 mile layout.  St. John's won the team race with 63 points.  Chaz Davis, Grafton, won the Division 2 race with a time of 14:59.5 and Hopedale won the team race with 66 points.  In the Division 1 girls race Abby Hurd, Nashoba, won with a time of 16:48.1 while Wachusett won the team race with a dominating 25 points.  Annaliese Vander Baan, Whitinsville, won the Division 2 race with a time of 17:23.1 while Sutton won big in the team race with 47 points.  Eastern Division 1: Stephen Sollowin, Weymouth, won with a time of 15:47, the fastest of the day.  Lowell won the team race with 107 points.  Catarina Rocha, Peabody, won with a time of 18:35 while Weymouth took the team title with 63 points.  Division 2: Shayne Collins, Mansfield won with a time of 16:02 to lead Mansfield to the win with 42 points.  Andrea Keklak, Lincoln-Sudbury, won with a time of 19:04 as Lincoln-Sudbury won with 49 points.  Division 3: Tyler Sullivan, Whitman-Hanson, won with a time of 16:03 while Oliver Ames won the team title with 67 points.  Laura Patriarca, Tewksbury, won with a time of 18:56 while Wellesley won the team crown with 49 points.  Division 4: Ryan Kelley, Pembroke, won the race with a time of 15:58 to lead Pembroke to the team title with 37 points.  Viviana Hanley, Bishop Feehan, won with a time of 18:30 as Bishop Feehan dominates with 37 points.  Division 5: Dana Dourdeville, Old Rochester, won with a time of 16:20 while Hamilton-Wenham won the team title with 58 points.  Alison Lanois, Hamilton-Wenham, won with a time of 19:11 to lead her team to the victory with 42 points.  Division 6: Kieran Kinnare, Ipswich, won with a time of 16:34 while Seekonk won the team title with 55 points.  Lee Milne, Dover-Sherbon, won the girls race in 19:30 to lead her team to the victory with 58 points.  Western | Division 1: Harrison Hunter, Northampton, won individually with a time of 16:25.92 as Northampton dominated with 27 points.  Camile Blackman, Londmeadow, won the girls race with a time of 18:59.92.  Northampton completed the team sweep with 72 points in the girls team race.  Division 2: KC Fussell, Monson, won the boys race with a 16:07.34 clocking while Mt. Greylock Regional won the team race with 81 points.  Cate Costley, Mt. Greylock Regional, won with a time of 19:07.55 to lead Mt. Greylock Regional to the win with 38 points.

 

 

 

New England Championships, VT - Meet Recap | Lindsay Crevoiserat Interview | Robert Allen Interview | Jeff LaCoste Interview | Lindsay Crevoiserat, Glastonbury CT, (Photo, below left, by Derek Veilleux) won the girls race with a time of 19:11.4 over Emily Durgin, Cheverus ME, who ran 19:23.2.  Jackie Nicholas, Nonnewaug CT, who beat Lindsay at the CT state meet, was 3rd in 19:25.4.  Champlain Valley VT won the team title with 88 points.  US#13 Robert Allen, Cranston West RI, (Photo, below right, in back, by Derek Veilleux) continues his winning ways, defeating the boys field with a time of 16:28.5 over Jeff LaCoste, Bishop Guertin NH, 16:35.4 (Photo, below right, #110, by Derek Veilleux)Manchester NH wins a close one over Bishop Hendricken RI 157 to 165. 

   

 

 

 

New Jersey State Group Championships, NJ - Race Videos & Interviews | Photos: 1 | 2 | Group 3 girls: US#2 Megan Venables, Highland, crushed the Holmdel course record with a stunning 17:27.9! (Photo, below, courtesy of NJRunners.com)  The legendary New Jersey course has had the same record since 1983 when Janet Smith, North Edison, ran a time of 17:35.5!  More details to come!!  NP-A boys: US#20 Mike Mazzaccaro, CBA, won the individual title with a time of 15:40 over Delbarton's Morgan Pearson, who was 2nd in 15:45.  Christian Brothers Academy landed the team title with just 35 points off of a 16:18 team average.  NP-A girls: Molly McNamara, won the girls title with a time of 18:19.  Group 4 girls: US#12 Megan Lacy, Cherokee, won big with a quick time of 17:53!  Group 4 boys: US#17 Jeramy Elkaim, Livingston, won with a time of 15:37.  Group 3 boys: US#7 Jim Rosa, West Windsor Plainsboro North, won comfortably with a time right around 15:40. New York State Championships, NY - Photos | Winners Table | F-M Story (Girls) | F-M Interview | Aisling Cuffe Interview | Shaker Story (Boys) | More video | AA Girls: US#1 Fayetteville-Manlius looked absolutely dominate in taking the AA girls race with a perfect score of 15 points over US#2 Saratoga Springs to win their 5th straight state title!!  F-M put 6 in the top-9 spots overall in the race and scored 15 points for the 2nd straight year.  Christie Rutledge led the F-M charge as the individual champ with a time of 17:31.  A Girls: US#1 Aisling Cuffe, Cornwall, blasted a 17:19.6 to win the Class A title over US#16 Kelsey Margey, Harborfields, who ran 17:52.7.  AA Boys: Chris Buchanan, Cicero-North Syracuse, won the boys race with a time of 15:55.9 over Saratoga's Sam Place, 15:56.7.  Shaker boys won the team title over Warwick Valley 58 to 78.  Boys Preview | Girls Preview | F-M looks to dominate   

 

 

 

 

Texas State Championships, TX - 5A boys: US#5 Craig Lutz (Photo, below, by Alex Aldaco) dominated with a winning time of 14:41.51 to win by a gap of 36 seconds!  The Woodlands won over Southlake Carroll 53 to 72 with a team averag of 15:54.01.  5A girls: US#9 Rachel Johnson, Plano, cruised to the win with a 2 mile time of 10:55.41.  Humble Kingwood won the team race with 93 points.  4A boys: Will Antkowiak, Brenham, won individually with a time of 15:07.56 for the second fastest time of the day.  Cedar Park won the team title with 48 points.  4A girls: Karlee Kleiber, Canyon Randall, won the girls race with a time of 11:06.10.  Dallas Highland Park won with a score of 67 points.  3A boys: Jake Roberts, Argyle, won with a time of 15:31.72 while Lucas Lovejoy won the team title with 72 points.  3A girls: Katie Ruhala, Lucas Lovejoy, won with a time of 11:33.33 to lead her team to the win with 52 points.      


 

 

 

Virginia State Championships, VA -Comprehensive Preview | Coverage Central | AAA girls: Midlothian won the team title with 104 points.  Hannah Lowery, Stafford, won the individual title with a time of 17:41.  AAA boys: Midlothian also won the boys title with a mere 46 points.  Ahmed Bile, Annandale, (Photo, bib#44 below, by John Herzog) won the individual title with a time of 15:27, running down Silas Frantz in the final 200 and nabbing him at the line.  Ahmed is the son of World 1500 champion Abdi Bile.  AA girls: Hidden Valley won the team crown with 78 points for the 2nd year in a row, led by Annie LaHardy, Hidden Valley, won the individual title with a time of 17:34, setting a course record (Photo, below, by John Herzog)AA boys: Blacksburg won the team title with 77 points in a squeaker over Western Albermarle, who had 78 points.  Kyle King, Grafton, won the individual race with a time of 15:21, the fastest on the day (Photo, below, by John Herzog)A girls: George Mason won the team title with 35 points and Katlyn Ayers, Strasburg, won the individual title with a time of 19:08.  A boys: Altavista won the team title with 66 points.  Jon Ulrich, Lebanon, won the individual title with a time of 16:22.

 

 

 

 

Regionals and Sectionals

 

 

 

CIF Southern Section Prelims- CA - The southern section division prelims were held at Mt. Sac with several heats per division.  US#6 Elias Gedyon (Loyola) had the fastest time of the day across all divisions with a 14:43 over the 3 mile course.  US#3 Ammar Moussa (Arcadia) had the fastest time across all heats in Division one with 15:02 over 2nd place US#14 Lane Werley (King) who finished in the same race with a 15:09.  US#12 Sam Pons (South Pasadena) had the 2nd fastest time of the day winning the Division 3 section in 14:54.   Freshman sensation US#10 Sarah Baxter (Simi Valley) had the fastest time of the day for the girls finishing in 17:39 in Division 1.  Also in Division 1, Jessica Hilton (Greak Oak) had the 2nd fastest time of the day of 17:52 winning heat 2.  Saugus took the top 3 spots in Division 2 with Stephanie Bulder finishing with a 17:53 followed by Kaylin Mahoney in 17:57 and Karis Frankian in 3rd in 18:25.
