Molly McNamara (sr, Red Bank Catholic) was selected as this weeks NJRunners.com female athlete of the week and it does not come without merit. McNamara, while in the midst of a personal best at Holmdel Park smashed the field. McNamara finished :50 seconds ahead of 2nd place. Her 1st place finish also led her team to victory in the team title over Howell 40 - 107

On the boys side, Pat Rono (jr, Lyndhurst) ran himself into the record books at the Bergen County Group Championships as he covered the 5000m Darlington Park course in 15:14 good enough for #2 all-time on the course. The record is held by Bob Keino who ran 15:05. Rono won his race (Varsity Boys Group C) and 2nd place was :39 seconds behind him. Overall Rono was :20 seconds faster than any other runner who toed the line.
