New Jersey @ Junior Worlds

The IAAF World Junior Track & Field Championships are under way in Moncton, Canada and the US is represnted by 2 Jersey HS'ers. In the Womens 800m is , Ajee Wilson, who will be a junior at Neptune HS in the fall. Soon to be senior Nick Vena of Morristown is representing the Red, White and Blue in the 6kg Shot Put.

In the Mens Shot Put competition, Nick took 4th place with a toss og 64' 8 1/2".

 

 

  

 

 

 

Ajee has advanced to the final of the 800m via prlim times of 2:05.94 (1st Rd) and a PR of 2:04.33 in the semi. The final will be Thursday night at 8:20pm local time.

Update - In the 800m Final tonite (7/22) Ajee Wilson finished 5th with a PR 0f 2:04.18. According to Paul Limmer of the NSSF, who is in Moncton for the meet, Wilson paid for the quick early pace (27.79 @ 200m), fading and then coming back late to take the 5th spot..  From Limmers real time report, Ajee seemed to have some run left in her after regrouping down the stretch.
