YANKTON, SD – NJIT sophomore Christian Baumbach won the Great West Conference title in the men's 5000 meter race on the final day of the 2010 Great West Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by University of South Dakota.
Baumbach led the way in the 5000 meter run as he finished at 15:03.13, earning 10 points for NJIT. Baumbach also scored in the men's 10000 meter run, picking up six points, taking third with a time of 30:58.15.
Teammate Umar Saeed placed fourth in the 10000 meter run and sixth in the 5000 meter run.
Jumper Xavier Lee finished in the top five of the men's triple jump with a leap of 12.96m and hurdler Jonathan Nunez was eighth in the men's 110 meter hurdles.
Junior Josh Dolisca claimed sixth place in the men's javelin with a throw of 45.06m while pole vaulter Martin Craig cleared 3.50m and finished in the top 10.
