Kicking off with the NJSIAA Group Championships, the magic of cross-country running will be found at historic Holmdel Park over the next two weekends.

There's something about rolling into that park with the Saturday morning dew still fresh on the grass and the trees shifting ever into their fall form. Knowing there are 12 races of epic championship action about to toe the line, entire summers of training, and seasons all leading to this moment.

Both teams and individuals, the best of the best in New Jersey, will compete for state championships as well as advancement to the overall NJSIAA Meet of Champions. A setup that has capped off the season for decades in proper fashion.

NJ MileSplit will be on-site, providing multi-view race videos, interviews with winners, photo albums, and more.

  • 9:30 Group 2 Girls
  • 10:00 Non-Public A Girls
  • 10:30 Group 2 Boys

Advancement to MOCs

  • Team Advancement
  • Auto: All six (6) Group Champions will auto-qualify.
  • Wild Card: All non-qualifying teams will be merged - the top eight (8) schools after the merge by team score will advance to the Meet of Champions.
  • Individuals Advancement
  • Auto: Top ten (10) individual finishers in each Group auto-qualify.
  • Wild Card: Next thirty (30) individuals with the fastest times across all Groups combined who have not already qualified via their teams or a top ten individual finish.

Awards

A trophy and ten certificates to the first-place team in each Group. Medals to the top 10 individuals in each Group.

Parking

"There will be NO PARKING ALLOWED at Holmdel Park or in the surrounding neighborhoods this Saturday for the Group XC Championship. Cars parking on the streets in the surrounding neighborhoods will be ticketed and possibly towed at the owners expense."

All bus and spectator parking will be at Bell Works - 101 Crawford Corner Rd. Holmdel.

Please follow the NJSIAA Parking Signage to the GOLD PARKING LOT ONLY. Shuttle busing to and from the park will be provided - there will be a $5 - CASH ONLY (NO CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS) fee per person to offset the cost of the busing.

There will be a handicap bus available. 

Spectators should arrive well before the race they wish to see to allow the shuttle bus to run.

Buses will be there from 8am to 5pm.

Note that due to internet issues at the park, apparel sales will be by cash only.

Awards

A trophy to the individual first place finisher and medals to the second through 20th place individual finishers. Seven medals to the first, second, and third-place teams.
