State College HS Invite #2:  Brady Gehret, Altoona PA, rocketed his way to the top of the US list in the 200 meter dash with a blazing 21.14h at an invitational Friday night in State College.  The mark is US#8 all-time as far as performances go and US#6 all-time individual.  

 

 

Arkansas 5-7A Indoor State Champs:  Sam Ewing, Lake Hamilton, won the pole vault, gaining some rare air with a 17-1 vault for US#1.  

 

 

Early outdoor marks in TX and FL:

Bolles Mini Meet:  Foot Locker finalist Colin Barker, Bishop Kenny FL, won the 1600 with a fast, early mark of 4:16.  flrunners.com write-up

 

Georgetown Invitational:  Parker Stinson, Cedar Park TX, rolled to a quick early season 3200 victory with a time of 9:06.

 

 

Akron Rubber City Open HS Welcome:  Kendall Baisden, Detroit Country Day MI, won the 400 meter dash with a smoking 53.99 to take the US#1 lead by over a second.  She also won the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.53, good for US#4.

Big additions late include returning NIN champions Jasmin Stowers (Pendleton, SC) and Briana Nelson (J. L. Mann, SC), while early scratches include Robbie Scharold (Campbell County, KY) and Chidera Obasih (Brookfield Central, WI). |   Madrecus Humphrey wins the High Jump with a jump of 6-06.  Margo Tucker (Lawrence Central HS, IN) wins the Girl's Pole Vault with a US#3 12-09.   Tyler Anderson (Hillsboro HS, TN) takes first in the Long Jump matching his 10th place 23-04.25 mark.  While Canadian Arkeem Hays was hitting the tape at 6.75 in the 60 meter run in Idaho, Blake Heriot (Pacesetter Track Club, OH) was doing the same.  Heriot bolted out of the blocks finishing with a US#1 time of 6.75.  The 400 turned out to be the fast race of the day with runners putting up 4 top 10 performances.  Blake finished the event in 47.59 putting him on top of the leader boards at US#1 for the second time.  James Harris (Speed City, AL) moved into US#2 with a 48.02 time with William Henry (Trotwood-Madison, OH) finishing in 48.41 for a US#5 and George Chambers (MD) in US#9 with 49.00.   Briana Nelson (SO., J.L. Mann, SC) was also putting up an incredible time in the 400, running 55.12 for a US #1.  Nelson also went on to win the 200 meter dash in 24.64. William Henry also won the 200 meter dash in 21.79 moving him into US#8.  Emma Brink (Jr., Sacred Heart Academy, KY) won the girls mile with a 4:59.56. Colby Alexander (Sr., Strongsville, OH) finished the mile in 4:12.25 for a US#2. Second place went to Omar Kaddurah (Jr., Grand Blanc, MI) with a US#7 time of 4:13.48. In the 800 meter run Marie Demedicis (Mountain Brook, AL) won the girls event in 2:12.71 and Nick Kaiser took the win for the boys in 1:53.17 moving him into the US#1 for the 800 meter run.  Bridgette Owens (Detroit, MI) won the girls 60 meter hurdles in 8:49 for a US#2 spot.

Davis Fraker, continues his hot streak, this time tossing the weight past 80 feet as he inches his way closer to Faldemeyer with an 80-02.  Shelby Ashe, won the girls weight with an amazing throw of 60-05 to take over US#1 in the event.  Throw1Deep flat-out dominated the events, taking the top-6 positions in the girls event and the top-10 places in the boys event. Friday:  Men's 1600, top 5 boys are within a second of each other with Evan Argyle, (Pleasant Grove, UT) leading the group.  Chris Mamon (Benicia, CA) is at the top spot heading into the 60 meter hurdle finals tomorrow.  Senior Ashton Purvis (St. Elizabeth HS, CA) running for EOYDC Track Club, has the fastest qualifying time in both the 60 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. Purvis has the US#1 time in the 60 meter and the US#2 in the 200 meter.  Trinity Wilson (So., St. Mary's College High, CA) also running for EOYDC Track Club, ran a prelim time of 8.44 in the 60 meter hurdles, besting her 8.49 US#1 time.  Colorado runner Kevin Scheuerman (Sr., Littleton, CO) heads into the finals with the fastest 400 time for the boys with Sage Watson leading the girls.   Akeem Haynes (Sr., Calgary International TC, Canada)  ran to a US#3 (6.83) in the 60 meter dash prelims.   In the boys 800 meter run, Jason Coupe (Galt, CA)  leads the boys and Kelsy Brown (Sr., Orem, Utah) and Jenna Westaway (SO., Calgary International TC, Canada) lead the girls.  Saturday:  Jenna Adams (Sr., Highland Ranch, CO) wins the Pole Vault event clearing 12'0".  Tara Richmond (Long Beach, CA) doubled winning the high jump in  5'8"  and the triple jump in 38-03.00.  Senior Jen Clayton (Suffern, NY) won the long jump, jumping over 19'.  Ashton Purvis rocks it in the 60 meter dash, running to a new PR and a new US#1 of 7.36.  Purvis went on to win the 200 meter dash for another  US#1 time of 23.53.  Ahkeem Hays (Calgary International TC, Canada) ran a time of 6.75 which would rank #1 in the US.  Sophomore Trinity Wilson won the 60 meter hurdles in 8:29 beating her US#1 time of 8:49 and breaking the Sophomore National Record.  Chris Mamon (Benicia, CA) won the 60 meter hurdles for the boys with a US#4 time of 8.01.   Fuqawan Greene (Sr., New Bern, NC) ran to a new meet record of 21.41 moving him into the US#2 spot.   Jessica Wilding (Kaysville, UT) won the girls 1600 in 5:09.97.  Evan Argyle (Sr., Pleasant Grove, UT) moved passed Roblet Muhudin (Aurora, CO) to take the lead with 50 meters to go to win the boys 1600 meter run (4:24.11).  Kelsey Brown (Sr., Orem Utah) is the new National leader in the 800, with a US#1 time of 2:11.05.  Alex Paul (Sr., Boulder, CO) won the 800 in 1:57.43.  Alex Gwynn (Cody, WY) Pole Vaulted  to 15-6 for a US#2 mark.   Susanah Hurst (Jr., Holladay, UT) won the girls 3200 meter run (11:40).  Chase Caulkins (Bellevue, ID) took first place in the 3200 in 9:27.04.

NJSIAA Group Championships:  Pat Schellberg 1600 Race Vid | Pat Schellberg, Delbarton NJ, rolls to a 1600 meter victory with a US#1 time of 4:10.48!  Splits: 31.1, 31.6, 31.5, 31.6, 31.4, 31.1, 31.2, 31.0.  DJ Thornton, Union Catholic, was 2nd in 4:13.35.  Najee Glass, St. Peters, rolled to a 400 meter victory in 48.77.  Molly McNamara, Red Bank Catholic, won the 800 meter dash with aUS#7 time of 2:14.47.   Jim Rosa (Jr., W Windsor-Plainsbore) ran to a US #1 9:05.26 in the 3200 meter run.  Blog updates here!!

 

 

Louisiana Indoor State Champs:  Morgann Leleux soared to great heights in the girls Division II Pole Vault with a US#1 leap of 13-6.  The mark was also US#6 All-Time.  In the process she beat previous US#1 Merritt Van Meter.

 

 

Connecticut State Open Championships:  Chris Fitzsimons, CT, won the 1000 meter run with a blazing fast US#2 time of 2:27.15.  Footlocker Finalist John Raneri, CT, won the 3200 meter run with a time of 9:10.75 which puts him at US#3.  Performance list

TSTCA Indoor Meet #7:  Penn Hills girls rocketed to a US#3 time in the 4x400 with a time of 3:52.49!

 

 

DIAA Indoor Championship:  Delcastle girls won the team title 103-98 over Tatnall with the 4x400 the deciding factor, which Delcastle won.  Tatnall boys won the team title 63-56 over Howard Tech.  More details coming.

 

 

Lake Mary All-Comers:  Octavious Freeman, Lake Wales FL, won the 55 meter dash outdoors with a time of 6.92, which would be US#2 indoors this year.  She also won the 200 meter dash in 24.89.  flrunners.com write-up

 

 

NC State Indoor Champs: Jake Hurysz ran a US#4 time of 9:10.96 for 3200. 1A/2A/3A | 4A | Results Table

 

 

PSAL Bronx Borough Champs:  Whitney Fountain, Christopher Columbus, won the 300 meter dash with a US#1 38.10.  She also won the 55 meter dash with a blazing US#1 time of 6.89.

 

 

 Section 3 OHSL/CNYCL Boys:  Alex Hatz, Fayetteville-Manlius, improved upon his own US#1 3200 meter time with a swift clocking of 9:08.18.  Anthony DeJean, Rome Free Academy, leaps up the rankings to US#6 with a mark of 23-9.25.  Mike Quercia, Marcellus, raced teammate Jesse Garn to a US#10 time of 2:30.58.  Garn went US#13 2:30.96.  

 

 

MITS Meet #3 @ Saginaw Valley State:  Dynasty McGee, Flint Southwestern Academy MI, won the long jump with a US#2 performance of 19-8.  She also won the triple jump with a US#8 39-01 and the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.07.  Megan Goethals, Rochester MI, won the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:52.42.

 

 

Northwest Region Indoor T&F Champs:  MileSplit.us On-site | Anthony Kostelac, Albermarle VA, anchored his team to a 2nd place finish with a 1:53.6 split.  He is also running the 1600 and 1000 later today.
