O'Connor, who also visited UNC, Duke, and Monmouth, has built an amazing resume during her years at St Rose.

She placed fourth at the XC Meet of Champions in 18:12, making her the top returning finisher in the state, and she captured eight state titles last year!!!! That's right, she won eight state titles in the three seasons combined, the most by any athlete in the state last year.

O'Connor captured the Non-Public B State XC title for the second straight time last fall. She followed that up indoors by completing an amazing quad, winning the 400, 800, 1,600 and 3,200 at the State Non-Public B Indoor Championships, and placing second in the 3,200 at the Meet of Champions.

Then in the spring, O'Connor finished first in the 800, 1,600, 3200, and placed second in the 400 at the State Non-Public B Outdoor Championships, placed third in the 1,600 at the Meet of Champions, and blasted big PR's of 1:01.28 in the 400, 2:12.17 in the 800, 4:48.16 in the 1,600, and 10:28.32 in the 3,200.

O'Connor, who will open her season at the Ocean State Invitational at Goddard Park in Warwick, Rhode Island this Saturday, said Nova has everything she was looking for.

"I chose Villanova because to begin with, the running culture they have there is unmatchable and everyone (team and coaches) are working super hard to get really good,'' said O'Connor, who plans to major in Biology. "When I went on the visit, the team was awesome and super welcoming; they have awesome goals and I really wanted to be part of the journey! Along with the coaches, who have are very talented and have had lots of success. Overall, I felt like Villanova was a great fit for me and I can really see myself being successful there!''
