New Jersey's Best One Lapper Verbally Commits

The toughest part in a young runners life can be where to go to college.  Some of the questions they face are, do I want to continue my track and field career in college?  Do I want to attend college close to home or out of state?  Student athletes are allowed five official college visits and for some it's not easy narrowing the choices down to just 5.  Michelle Brown was no different.  Brown's five choices were in no particular order, Notre Dame, the University of Michigan, Penn State, the University of Virginia, and Duke.

Brown took official visits to all 5 schools and Notre Dame was her favorite.  Notre Dame was her first visit and when asked, Michelle said

"I knew in my gut that Notre Dame was the school for me".

But none the less she still wanted to see what else was out there.  Let's be real after what she accomplished the last two years, winning multiple meet of champions titles, indoor and outdoor, running for the US junior team in italy (running on a relay and medaling) and running under 54.00 seconds multiple times with a PR of 52.91 that was run at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, NC last June (seen in the picture above) every college in the land would be calling.  After her visit to Notre Dame it was on to the other 4.  Michelle said she liked the others but it was Notre Dame that made the difference.

"I felt at home when I visited Notre Dame" she said

Michelle leaned to her aunt for some guidance as she too attended Notre Dame and she told Michelle that she absolutely loved it

"I'm so lucky to be a part of the Notre Dame family and get an amazing education while doing what I love which is running"
