KNOW BEFORE YOU GO...NYC Parks and the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex take the safety and wellbeing of our guests very seriously.  The information provided below will help guide athletes, coaches and spectators visiting the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex this coming indoor track & field season. *Please keep in mind events may require more restrictive mandates; athletes, coaches and parents are encouraged to check with meet directors or the event's information for any additional details.*Please note that the information below is subject to change at any time.

Athletes

Youth/High School

All youth and high school athletes will be required to wear masks upon entering the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.  Masks may be removed when the athlete is physically competing but should remain on at all other times, this also includes between attempts of the field events.

Colleges and Universities, that are NOT based in New York City

All athletes will be required to wear masks upon entering the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.  Masks may be removed when the athlete is physically competing but should remain on at all other times, this also includes between attempts of the field events.

Colleges, Universities, all other athletes over the age of 17 that are based in New York City

All athletes must show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 to enter the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.  Masks will be required upon entering the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.  Masks may be removed when the athlete is physically competing but should remain on at all other times, this also includes between attempts of the field events.

Unattached athletes over the age of 17, regardless of residencyAll athletes must show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 to enter the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.  Masks will be required upon entering the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.  Masks may be removed when the athlete is physically competing but should remain on at all other times, this also includes between attempts of the field events.

Coaches

Youth/High School

All coaches must show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 to enter the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.  Masks will be required upon entering the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex and must always be worn.

College & Professional coaches based in New York City based coaches

All coaches must show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 to enter the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.  Masks will be required upon entering the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex and must always be worn. 

College & Professional coaches NOT based in New York City based coaches

Masks will be required upon entering the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex and must always be worn.

Spectators

All spectators must show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 to enter the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.  Masks will be required upon entering the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex and must always be worn. 

Officials

All officials must show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 to enter the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.  Masks will be required upon entering the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex and must always be worn.

FAQ

How can I show proof of my vaccination status?

Individuals must demonstrate that they have received at least one dose of a vaccine authorized by the United States Food and Drug Administration or by the World Health Organization or any active (not placebo) COVID-19 vaccine candidate that is part of a U.S.-based clinical trial.

 Sufficient proof may be demonstrated by displaying:                         *A photo or hard copy of their CDC vaccination card

*Official vaccine record

A photo or hard copy of an official vaccination record of a vaccine administered outside the United States for one of the following vaccines1: AstraZeneca/SK Bioscience, Serum Institute of India/COVISHIELD and Vaxzevria, Sinopharm, or Sinovac.

Will masks need to be worn in the building?

Yes, masks must always be worn, except for when an athlete's is physically competing and in between field event attempts.

Will hand sanitizer be available throughout the facility?

Yes, hand sanitizer will be available at all public locations as well as all competition points.

Do event directors have the right to mandate vaccinations?

Yes, event directors may implement stricter guidelines then set forth by the City of New York.

Does the vaccination and mask mandate apply to practice sessions?

Yes, the same policies above will also apply to practices, but masks must be worn at all times.

Is it possible that the policy could change after the start of the season?

Yes, the policy can change as the COVID-19 pandemic is still evolving and changing frequently.
