6:30 p.m. What an awesome first day of action here at Franklin. Lots of PR's, dramatic finishes, and a meet record was smashed. Sorry for the delay on the updates between the girls and boys 4x800''s- no power in the press tent, so my laptop and phone died!!
6:13 p.m. Ridge comes charging across the line first to win the boys Group 4 800 in 7:54.52!! That's the second fastest time in the state this season behind the 7:49.25 Ridge ran earlier in the season.

6:05 p.m. Bad break for SJ Group 4 4x800 champ Cherokee as their baton crashes to the track in the first 50 meters. No call back. Cherokee said the stick was knocked out their hands and were obviously very disappointed that the race was restarted. Officials said that when baton falls to the ground regardless of whether it was knocked out, it doesn't warrant a restart. The officials said that if a runner is knocked to the ground while losing the baton, then a call back can be called.
5:40 p.m. Haddonfield wins the boys G2 4x800 in 8:11.24.
5:20 p.m. Westfield wins the girls Group 4 4x800 in an NJ#3 9:25.82.

5:05 p.m. GET UR CASEY SULLIVAN SHOT PUT BOMB ON!!! The junior at Demarest just unloaded a NJ#1 45-5.50 to smash the girls Group 2 record!!! The old record of 45-3.50 was set in 1989 by Karen Harris of Hillside. How awesome is that!!!! Congrats, Casey!!!

4:59 p.m. This meet is flying!!!! Having 3 sites for these State Group meets is the way to go!!!
4:55 p.m. Boys Group 4 Discus, Girls Group 4 shot put, and the girls Group 4 PV have been moved until tomorrow because of the rainy weather.
4:45 p.m. Nick Medeiros of Old Bridge crashes to the track right after winning the boys Group 4 400 with a PR of 48.33!!! A real blood and guts race for Medeiros, who will be. back to run the 800 and 4x400 tomorrow.
4:42 p.m. Brett Barry of Parsippany Hills win the boys Group 2 400 in 49.76
4:40 p.m. State 400 leader Julia Jackson of Scotch Plains wins the girls Group 4 400 in 55.67.

3:57 p.m. It's Kyle Rakitis time. The Kingsway junior ran 4:08.67 last week.
3:50 p.m. Get ur Josh Forrest comeback on!!! The senior at Collingswood wins in 4:15.61. Forrest was down 25 meters with 800 to go before he cranked out a 2:05.65 last 800 and a 61.64 last 400!!!
3:45 p.m. Holy Smokes. Just heard that Bryce Tucker of Pennsauken ran 52.68 in the 400 IH in the Group 3. That's a statet soph record!!!
3:40 p.m. Boys Group 2 1,600 is up next.
3:30 p.m. Steady light rain falling here.
3:15 p.m. 100 dash trials on the track
3:10 p.m. Hamilton uses a late surge over the final 20 meters to edge Alexandra Carlson of North Hunterdon, 4:51.47 to 4:51.65!!!! PR's for both runners! Hamilton and Carlson ran 2:22 and change for the last 800 and 67 point for the last quarter.
3:00 p.m. The girls Group 4 1,600 should be even faster with Katie Hamilton of Westfield in this.
2:57 p.m. GET UR HADDONFIELD RED HOT 1-2 1600 ON!!! Sarah Naticchia WINS IN 4:54.25 and Allison Colflesh is 2nd in 4:54.76!!! Naticchia and Colflesh, who each PR's by 2 seconds, each split 2:24 and change for the last 800!!! And check out freshman Christina Allen of River Dell running 4:55.99 to place third.
2:56 p.m. It's all Haddonfield here in the Group 2 girls 1600!!!!
2:50 p.m. Look out for Luke Roberts!!!! The Ridge senior drops a a huge PR and NJ#1 53.88 to win the Groip 4 400 IH!!!!
2:45 p.m. Joe Aglione of Rumson goes 55.09 for the win in the Group 2 400 IH.
2:41 p.m. It's time for the boys 400 hurdles. Group 2 first
2:35 p.m. Here comes Adelaide Asante of North Brunswick. Asante, who is headed to Princeton University, pulled away over the final two hurdles to win the state Group 4 400 hurdles in 101.79, just off her PR and state leading 1:01.13.

2:30 p.m. Senior Margaret Wojie of Holmdel hits a PR of 1:03.62 to win the girls Group 2 title!!!
