Former state champions and more of Pennsylvania's top distance talent will take to the track on Saturday for a 5K in Edison, New Jersey.
In the second Garden State Track Club High School Fall Showcase Meet, we'll see of the state's best under the lights at Thomas Edison Park across state lines. Check out the full entries from MileSplit NY here. Here's a look at the races we'll be watching for:
Girls 5K, Heat 2 - 7:30 PM Start

The 2018 Foot Locker National champion headlines the top girls' field on Saturday. Sydney Masciarelli will be the one to beat in this field. But West Chester Henderson's Jenna Mulhern has looked strong in the early going in her junior season, running a 10:23 3200 and a 4:53 mile on the track already. Look for Mulhern to be very competitive in this field being pushed by Masciarelli as well as top-ranked NJ girl Charlotte Bednar from the Lawrenceville School. We could see some fast times here.
In the first girls heat at 7 PM, we will see Liberty's Emily Jobes, who was 13th in the state in AAA last season. Also in that heat are four other West Chester Henderson girls that should post quick times.

In the hot heat for the boys, we'll see plenty of big names, led by defending AA state champion Dylan Throop of General McLane, who clocked a 15:30 in mid-September in XC. Now the senior will look to add a very fast 5K time on the track to his resume. But he should get a good challenge from Aiden Barnhill of Downingtown West. Barnhill is among the favorites for the state title in AAA this season. He's gone 9:24 for 3200 meters and 4:17 in the mile this fall. Now he moves up to the 5K for the first time before he gets into postseason mode.
Also in the fast field are D-West's powerful 2-3 in Declan Rymer and Holden Betz, along with Liberty's Cole Frank. All three should be looking at fast times on Saturday night.
