North 2, Group 3 Girls - Full Results

Sophomore Julia Jackson and freshman Jenai Berry fueled a balanced effort for Scotch Plains-Fanwood, which utilized nine girls in the scoring and won the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 title, 88-58 over runner-up Summit.

Jackson won the 55-meter dash in 7.51 and the 400 meters in 59.70. Berry won the 800 in 2:25.45 and placed second in the 400 (59.83). Senior Che Dashiell won the high jump at 5-0, and senior Katherine Chouinard won the pole vault at 8-0. The Raiders also won the 4x400 relay in 4:11.87 and scored in nine of 10 events. 

Also scoring for the Raiders were sophomore Olivia Zambrio, third in the 3,200 (11:54.53); sophomore Gabby Crona, sixth in the 3,200 (11:55.54); senior Nicole Agwu, third in the 55 hurdles (8.93); senior Anina Dashiell, sixth in the high jump (4-8); and junior Olivia Fletcher, third in the shot put (33-4 ¼). 

Every little bit helps. Mendham sophomore Melissa Aymil threw the shot put an all-time personal best and NJ#6 40-7, a quarter inch better than her winning throw at the Morris County Championships.

North 2, Group 3 Boys - Full Results

First-place finishes by seniors Sam Dennerlein and Anthony Scerbo were the impetus for Chatham getting the edge on Irvington, 65-59, to clinch the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 title. 

Dennerlein threw the shot put 53-10, and Scerbo won the 800 meters in 1:58.18 to pace Chatham. Also posting top-three efforts for the Cougars were senior Alec Gironda, second in the 3,200 (9:30.86); senior Kyle Kressler, third in the high jump (5-10); and senior Ryan Storm, third in the pole vault (11-0). 

Irvington stayed in the thick of the team race thanks to senior Dwight Henry, who won the 55 dash in 6.58 and the 55 hurdles in 7.41. 

Major contributors for Irvington were senior Teon Dundas, second in the 55 dash (6.70) and third in the hurdles (7.88); sophomore Cashieve Blair, third in the 400 (51.92); and senior Jared Manifold, second in the hurdles (7.79).

Chatham (3:29.07) and Irvington (3:31.03) finished 1-2 in the 4x400 relay. 

Mendham senior Jack Jennings shot to the top of the state list when he won the North 2, Group 3 1,600 meters in NJ#1 4:16.12. He also rose to NJ#2 in the 3,200 with his winning time of 9:16.59.

North 2, Group 2 Girls - Full Results

Senior Jenna Chan won the 55 dash and 55 hurdles and seven West Essex girls scored to push the team past Voorhees, 66-52, for the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 2 championship.  

Chan won the sprint in 7.46 and the hurdles in 8.39. Junior Vivian Onnembo placed second in both the dash (7.54) and 400 (1:02.11). 

Also scoring for West Essex was senior Delilah Cruz, second in the hurdles (8.61); junior Arianna Lee, third 400 (1:02.31); junior Maya Perez, fifth 800 (2:29.94); junior Kate Mastrangelo, sixth 800 (2:32.31); and junior Gillian Rodgers, fourth high jump (4-8). West Essex also placed second in the 4x400 relay (4:21.41). 

Junior Emma McGill and senior Emily Sell were standouts for Voorhees. McGill won the 1,600 in 5:05.49 and placed second in the 800 (2:21.86), while Sell won the 3,200 in 12:02.68 and placed second in the mile (5:19.35). 

Voorhees junior Emma McGill rose to NJ#5 with her winning 1,600 time of 5:05.49. Victoria Vanriele brought home three golds with impressive marks in the 400m, 58.97, 800m, 2:10.50, and the 4x400m (out of the unseeded heat)!

North 2, Group 2 Boys - Full Results

Led by a pair of first-place finishes by junior Dominic Romero, Parsippany picked up all but 10 of its points on the track to outdistance runner-up Voorhees 89-34, to claim the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 2 championship.

Romero won the 800 meters (2:03.11) and 1,600 (4:32.33) and placed fourth in the 3,200 (9:59.97). Senior Nana Agyemang also had a busy night, winning the 55 dash (6.62), placing second in the hurdles (8.03) and fifth in the 400 (52.44). And senior Anthony Colasuonno won the hurdles in 7.80 and placed second in the 400 (51.32). 

Also contributing for Parsippany were junior Vincent DeLucia, third in the 1,600 (4:33.78); senior Abbas Wafa, fifth in the mile (4:39.13); and juniors Carlos Ortiz (44-2 ½) and Dennis Ribiero (44-1), third and fourth in the shot put, respectively. Parsippany also placed second in the 4x400 relay (3:37.72).
