St. Peter's Prep and Kearny Girls Win Hudson Relay Titles

St. Peter's Prep rolled to its fifth straight boys title and Kearny captured the girls title at the Hudson County Relays on Tuesday night at the Jersey City Armory.

In the boys competition, St. Peter's simply overpowered the competition, winning four of the six races on the track on the way to a convincing 68-39 victory over runner-up North Bergen.

St. Peter's won the sprint medley in a NJ#3/US#8 3:39.10, the shuttle hurdles in a NJ#5 31.88, the DMR (11:04.85), and the 4x800 (8:35.74). St. Peter's also received a meet best throw of 43-0 1/2 in the shot put from Owen Fletcher, and finished second in the 4x400 and third in the 4x200.

On the girls side, Kearny, sixth last year, won the 4x800 (10:25.84), the SMR (4:31.06), and the 4x400 (4:21.94) en route to a 63-56 victory over runner-up and defending champion Snyder. Kearny also placed third in both the 4x200 and the shuttles, and finished second in the DMR.
