8:30 a.m. - I am here at NJ's XC Cathederal for the first time this season for the Shore Coaches meet. Do I really have to say where? Does anyone really not know? I didn't think so.


GET UR HOLMDEL PARK ON!! Sure does feel good to type that!! 

There are few places that give me chills, and Holmdel is right at the top!!!

Live updates will be down below, tons of photos will be posted, videos from the mile, 2-mile mark and finish line and lots of video interviews will all be coming straight at you. So keep checking back here for the latest updates. 

This is the meet that seperates the pretenders from the contenders, and solidifies who the top teams and runners in the state are.

There's a bunch of great team and individual matchups on tap today, so strap on a seat belt on and enjoy an awesome day of XC.   

Just how awesome is today?? It's a distance runners dream with 27 races on the schedule!!!! That means from 9 a.m. until around 5:15 p.m. there will be races going on here. How awesome is that!!!!!  Next to the state meets, this is the best day of the season!!!!

8:45 a.m. - 15 minutes until the first race, the boys freshman C race. 

8:59 a.m. Here we go!!!! The gun for the first race of the day just went off. 

9:05 a.m. Great weather here. No wind and bright sunny skies, but it's warm out and the temps will be climbing. 

9:11 a.m. The first winner of the day is Lucas Vasquez of Ewing in 12:08!!! Vasquez wins by a huge by a huge margin!!  Delbarton won the team title with 60. Union Catholic gets 2nd with 155 and Pennington is third also with 155. 

9:25 a.m. Jamie Habib of Madison broke away after the first half to win the girls freshman B race in around 13:27!!!  Madison wins the team title with 58 points. Trinty Hall 2nd with 62 and River Dell third with 78. 

9:45 a.m. Jr. Jalen Cabrera of St. Benedict' s Prep just won the boys JV E race in around 18:56, a Holmdel Park PR. Oratory crushed this race going 1-2-4-8-12 for a winning total of 27. River Dell is 2nd with 113 and Lawrenvceville was third 118.    

10:01 a.m. Olivia Monahon of Woodstown won the girls JV C race in 22:26.

10:14 a.m. The first varsity winner of the day is Fahd Nasser of McNair, who continued his great season with a decisive win in 16:15. That's a Holmdel PR of 35 seconds and a new school record!!. The old school record of 16:40 that was set by Kevin Ratigan at the 2011 Meet of Champions. Nasser took the lead for good in the 2nd mile, hitting the 2-mile mark in 10:40.

Paul VI averaged 18:12 and won the boys G race 78-125 over Dunellen. Newark Academy was third with 136. 

10:30 a.m. Boys F race on the course. 

10:35 a.m. It's no surprise that a St. Benedict's Prep runner just won the F race, but it wasn't Ronald Kigen. Jaron Jordan of St. Benedict's, who hit 2 miles in 10:45, win its in around 16:15. Kigen fell just before begining the hill out of the bowl. Not sure if he finished?? Stay tuned. 

Jared Cooper of Mountain Lakes was 2nd and Andre Rodriguez of Union Catholic takes third. 

Mountain Lakes win the F Division team title with 117 points and a 17:43 avg. Robbinsville 2nd with 134 and Spotdwood third with 143.  

10:54 Here comes Devin Hart!!! He's all alone and comes across the line first in the E race in 15:57, a Holmdel PR by 1 second.!!! Hart hit the mile in 5:12 and ran out front all by himself the rest of the way. Heat is a major factor now. It's 80 degrees!!!

Haddonfield goes 3-4-13-22-37 and wins the boys E race with a 17:19 avg and 79 points. Demarest 2nd with 116 and Camden Catholic with 134. 

11:13 a.m. Soph. Nikki Vanasse of Pingry runs a huge Holmdel PR of 19:31 to win the girls F race. Her old Holmdel PR was 20:03.  Vanasse led Amanda Stone of Monmouth by a step at 2 miles as they went by in 12:43. Stone finished 2nd in 19:45.  

Pingry edged Villa Walsh, 65-66 for the girls F Division title. Holy Angels 3rd with 92.   

11:32: JuniorJerika Lufrano of Union Catholic wins the girls E race in 19:07.  That's a huge Holmdel PR. Her previous Holmdel best was 20:34. 

Union Catholic averages 20:50 and goes 1-3-7-13-14 and wins with 38 points. Mountain Lakes 2nd with 109 and Poly Prep of NY third with 112.  

11:52 a.m. Rachel Kenny of Matawan win the D race in 19:18. Shannon Goria of River Dell, an All-Stater as a soph 2 years ago, was 2nd in 19:31. Goria missed most of her Jr. xc season with injuries. 

11:55 a.m. There will now be sub varsity races until the boys varsity D race at 1:50 p.m.!!!!

12:15 p.m. Grayson Fasolo leads a 1-2-3 finish in 18:42 for team champ Haddonfield in the boys JV D race. 

12:30 p.m. Check out Collin Frost!!! He just won the Coaches Race in 15:54!!!! Fastest time of the day so far!!! Frost, who ran at Randolph High and Binghampton University, now coaches at Delbarton. The women's winner of the Coaches Race was Amanda Eller in 21:03. 

1:00 p.m. Soph. Meghan Kelly of Summit wins the girls JV B race in 21:55, one second ahead of Brenda Dougherty of Morristown. Somerville win the team title with 60 points. Rumson was second with 68 and Morristown took third with 125.    

1:15 p.m. Angela Kearsley led a 1-2 finish for North Hunterdon in 20:58 as North Hunterdon edged Ridge, 33-35 for the girls JV A team title.

1:30 p.m. Jack Hutson finished first in 11:25 to lead Middletown South to the boys Freshman B team title with 21 points. Middletown South went 1-2-3-5-10!!

1:50 p.m. The varsity races are back up with the boys D on the course now. It's time for Chris Romero of Voorhees.

2:05 p.m. It's all Chris Romero!!!! 15:56 FTW!!! 

Teddy Meredith of Hopewell Valley 2nd in around 16:15. 

Holy Smokes!!! It looks like Hopewell just packed its 5 guys in the top 15!!!!

2:15 p.m. It's Princeton time. Let's see what the defending Meet of Champ winners will throw down here. 

2:24 p.m. It's all Princeton as Will Hare wins the C race in 16:11 and the Tigers put 5 guys under 17:20. And that's without Acasio Pinheiro. Damien Dilcher of Brick went out real hard and lost his shoe in the first half mile. He ran without it until the mile mark, which he hit in 5:10. I didn't see Dilcher finish. Bad break for Damien. 

Princeton went 1-4-5-11-14 and averaged 16:55 to defeat Morris Hills, 35-78. Seton Hall Prep third with 145

2:45 p.m. Ray Sellaro of North Hunterdon runs away from Ramsey Little of Millburn over the final 600 meters to win the boys B race in 16:16, a a Holmdel PR of 15 seconds. Kingsway blew that race apart!!!

Kingsway went 3-6-8-6-22 and averaged 16:52 and won the A title, 55-90 over North Hunterdon. East Brunswick was third in 17:25. 

2:50 p.m. The boys A race is on the course. CBA isn't running all its top guns. They are loading up for the Eastern States race next week at Vanny.

FYI-It's cooled off a bit here as some clouds have rolled in.  

3:06 p.m. Malual Mu of Trenton, the indoor M of C 1,600 winner last year, wins the A race in 16:12.

CBA averaged 17:01 and won the A Division team title, 64-88 over Westfield. WW South takes third with 104. Jr. Luke Reid led the CBA attack by placing second with a big Holmdel PR of 16:23 

3:10 p.m. The girls C Division race is on the course.

Soph. Corinne Barney of Indian Hills, who played soccer last year, wins the girls C race in 19:23.

Red Bank rolls to victory in the girls C race with a 21:02 avg and 63 points. Indian Hills places 2nd with 101 and Somerville placed third with 127.

3:40p.m. Girls B race on the course. FYI-The heat just got cranked up as the clouds have moved away.

3:46 p.m. GET UR HEBNER TWINS ON!!!!  THEY JUST TORCHED THIS PLACE!!! MONICA WINS IN 18:32 AND ISABEL GETS 2ND IN 18:39!!!! 

Alexa Westley of Warren Hills, the Met of Champions 3,200 winner last spring, gets third in 18:52. 

The three fastest times of the day came in this race! 

Monica Hebner's 18:32 places her tied for No. 11 all-time among Bergen County runners at Holmdel.

Kingsway averages 20:30 and goes 7-11-16-18-25 to win the girls B race, 77-81 over Ridge. Mount Olive places third with 161 points. 

WHAT A DAY FOR THE DRAGONS!!! KINGSWAY WITH A TEAM TITLE SWEEP TODAY!!!!! ONLY TEAM THAT PULLED OFF THE SWEEP IN THE VARSITY RACES!!!   

4:15 p.m. Abby Loveys of Randolph stays undefeated this season by winning the A race in 19:02.

North Hunterdon wins the girls A Division team with an average of 20:05 and 69 points. WW South takes second with 107 and Randolph places third with 109.   

What an awesome day here at Holmdel!

More than 5,000 runners ran today!!! 5,076 finishers to be exact, not including the coaches races!!! Tons of PR's and great team battles. Today had everything!!!!

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO RAN TODAY. You showed why XC is the greatest sport in the world!!!
