Great Performances Abound in the Thompson Park Class Meet Merge

Here are the merged team scores from the class meet races on Saturday at Thompson Park. Above, an interview with the girls meet leader Devon Hoernlein. 

For the girls Devon Hoernlein of Allentown led the meet with her run of 19:14 to win the senior class race. That performance moved her to sixth all-time since the meet began in 2007. Two other girls went under 19:30 as well, Amanda Stone of Monmouth Regional 19:22 to win the junior race and Rachel Kenny of Matawan Reg 19:26 in second for the senior division. 

The girls team merge went to South Brunswick who scored 142 points, nine ahead of second ranked Governor Livingston. South Brunswick averaged 21:16 and were led by Rebecca Hartman at 20:32. Governor Livingston's number one was super sophomore Victoria Vanriele at 19:53. 

Hamilton North senior Jonathan Torres was the top boy for the meet with his 16:11, ranked fourth in meet history. John Spinelli of Mater Dei Prep also cracked the top ten all-time with his 16:21.

NJ#8 ranked Ocean Twp was the team to beat in the merged score with 137 points. They split 57 seconds between their top five averaging a time of 17:22. Their leading finisher Matt D'Auria, who was the ninth fastest on the day, at 16:55.
