A sub-four minute mile attempt will take place at the conclusion of the Elite HS T&F Showcase meet on Friday July 22nd. This is the second meet of the high school summer series held at the Newark Schools Stadium.
The mile field making the attempt will not be high school however, consisting of athletes who compete for NJ-NY Track Club and Garden State Track Club. Again the mile will take place at the conclusion of the meet, doors open at 3:30 and the first event goes off at 5:00 pm.

Travis Mahoney wow'd the crowd during a twilight event at Christian Brothers Academy in the summer of 2014 right around this time. With the help of his teammates pacing him he ran 3:59.31. Check out that story here and the video from that race below.
