5. Plenty of top talent here in Group 2, along with those below keep an eye out for Colin and Will Daly of River Dell who went 1-2 in the 800, 1600, and 3200 at their sectionals. They tend to have a hold of the distance events either at the same time or splitting racing duties as we move further into states.

Kishona McCray of Central HS led the Group 2 in three different events on the Sectionals merge. Winning the 200 meter (25.03, -1.6), 100 hurdles (14.37, -0.4), and 400 hurdles (60.63) at her section.

4. We have to mention Nickolette Dunbar who is US#3 NJ#2 in the shot put and NJ#3 in the discus. Dunbar is the only other New Jersey girl other than Alyssa Wilson to throw over 50 feet in the shot this season and she steps up big time when the big stages such as states arrive. Don't be surprised if we see a career PR from her at this meet.

3. TWO state leading boys in the sprints come from the Group 2 meet. Thomas Kalieta of Matawan owns the NJ#1 spot in the 200 meter with a 21.55 (+1.0) from Shore Conference Champs and Taj Burgess of Carteret is the state lead in the 400 meter clocked in at 47.40. Both of these young men are only juniors

2. Haddonfield track star Briana Gess won three individual events last weekend leading the Group 2 merge in the 800 meter (2:13.81), 1600 meter (4:56.90), and 3200 meter (11:06.28). We haven't seen as much of Gess this season as we had in the past but it looks as though she is primed and ready for a competitive state season. She is the defending champion in all three of these events for her Group, and she won the outdoor MOCs 1600 meter in 2015 running 4:48.05.

1. The NJ#2 all-time girls pole vaulter Leah Saifi of Governor Livingston is settling in at the right time. Just recently on May 23rd at the East Coast Relays Saifi cleared 12-8 on a stormy night to take a major lead on the state and NJ#2 all-time. She cleared 12-0 for the second week in a row this past weekend winning her section and also tied for the best among the sectional meets this season. Lets see how high the bar can go as she takes on Michelle Rubinetti from NV Demarest who cleared 11-6 last weekend with a PR of 12-3. .
