Austin Stoner - Haddonfield Memorial - XC / Mid-Distance
Austin Stoner has chosen Yale University to continue his studies as well as his cross country and middle distance career. He had it narrowed down to Dartmouth, the University of Pennsylvania and Yale before making his final decision. Stoner has a career best of 1:54.63 in the 800m which he ran for third place at the Group 2 Championships last spring. He also holds a PR of 4:19.66 in the 1600m and a Holmdel best of 16:40.
Jessica Molina - Westwood - Throws
Jessica Molina has given a verbal commitment to Wake Forest to continue her promising throwing career. She has been a major part of the best group of throwing girls the state has seen in a while. With multiple Bergen County and Bergen County MOC titles and a victory at the Eastern State Championships she holds PRs of 139-5 in the discus, 159-10 in the Hammer, 122-9 in the Javelin, and 46-9 for the shot put outdoor 48-10 indoor. She was also third at the USA World Youth Trials in the 3k Shot Put with a mark of 54-10.25!
Rachel Suss - Metuchen - XC / Distance
We now have two New Jersey distance stars heading to Yale, Rachel Suss made a verbal commitment to the Connecticut based university this past week. She holds SIX Group 1 distance running state titles between cross country and track and holds personal bests of 2:18.97 in the 800m, 4:57.05 in the 1600m, 10:42.94 in the 3200m, and a Holmdel best of 18:35.
Lauren Sapone - Red Bank Regional - XC / Distance
Lauren Sapone is heading to Dartmouth College next fall! She holds personal bests of 2:12.59 in the 800m, 4:52.60 in the mile, and 18:44 at Holmdel. Last outdoor she was 10th at the Meet of Champions in the 800m running 2:15.47, that's just one of multiple top 15 finishes she's had at the state MOC meet.
Mike Zupko - Christian Brothers Academy - Sprints
The CBA sprinter is heading to Princeton University! He has been an important part of successful state champion CBA relay teams. Zupko also holds multiple Monmouth County and Shore Conference individual titles between the 200m and 400m. Last year he won the Non-Public A South Sectional title in the 100m running 11.06 and has PRs of 22.74 in the 200m and 48.30 in the 400m.
Gabby Devito - Monmouth Regional - XC / Distance
This Monmouth Regional senior distance runner has chosen Iona College to continue her studies and running career. She holds bests of 5:28.23 in the 1600m and 11:28.38 in the 3200m, and was fourth at her Sectional meet last indoor in the 3200m.
