High Point Reg senior Joe Dragon didn't just run the fastest 5K of the weekend at 15:34, he set the fourth fastest time ever at Garret Mountain! You can watch his race right here. He had the next freshmen sensation Ronald Kigen of St. Benedict's Prep in that Group 2 race as well, who ran the second fastest time of the meet at 16:06.
Team wise on the boys side Morristown had the best performance with 108 points according to the merge. Their 16:58 average was led by a three pronged attack; senior Evan Quinn won their Group 4 race with a time of 16:14 and was followed by teammates Eric Clay in second with 16:38, Ben Edwards third with 16:39.
Anna George a Montville FRESHMAN ran the fastest girls time of the meet while winning the Group 3 race with 19:33! She was almost 45 seconds ahead of the next finisher in her race.
The girls best team performance was split between Wayne Hills and Montclair, in the merge they actually went to extra runners placing Wayne Hills on top. Both scored 89 points when combining the meet, Montclair was led by Juliet Kohli who had the second fastest time of the meet at 19:46, she won the Group 4 race. Wayne Hills was led by Taylor Domico with the fourth overall time of 20:17.
