Rob Albano Named Cross-Country Assistant At Felician

RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Rob Albano of Pompton Plains has been named the assistant women's and men's cross-country coach at Felician College, first-year Golden Falcon head coach Rob DeCarlo Jr. announced today.

Albano is a 2014 graduate of Felician and is the most decorated cross-country runner in the history of its men's program. In his final year of athletic eligibility in 2012-13, he was named Felician's Senior Male Student-Athlete of the Year and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Albano was a two-time Academic All-American and a two-time all-East Region runner. He was the first male to win back-to-back CACC Runner of the Year awards.

Albano was named the CACC Runner of the Week 18 times during his four-year Golden Falcon career. He owns a BA in elementary education and natural science & mathematics from Felician, and New Jersey teaching certifications in elementary education (K-6) and middle school science (5-8).

Albano is the head boys' track & field coach at Pequannock Township High School of Pompton Plains, his alma mater. He teaches sixth-grade science at Valley Middle School in Oakland.

Felician is a member of NCAA Division II. Both Golden Falcon cross-country teams begin the 2015 campaign at the Monmouth University Kickoff on Saturday, September 5, at Thompson Park in Lincroft.
