RF Haven and Highland Reg Impress at St. Dominic Invite!

The 20th annual running of the St. Dominic Invitational took place on Saturday at Lincoln Park in Jersey City. The meet runs a 5350 meter course for the varsity and 2.2 mile course for the freshmen. 

For the girls race the fastest time went to Hannah Anderson of Rumson-Fair Haven who clocked a 20:21. She collected the one card for her team and it was just the start of a successful day for the Haven. The team would finished first overall with 33 points, 26 ahead of second, and a team average of 21:41. The points line went as follows 1-5-6-8-13 and the girls only had a 1:21 split between first and fifth on their team!

For the boys fastest time we look to Joshua Clark, a junior from Highland Regional. Clark posted a 16:47 for first place and was followed by his teammate Ryan Carroll in second with a 16:58!

These two led a team victory that only totaled 28 points with a 1-2-5-8-12 line. The team average calculated to 17:17 and they only had 1 minute and 3 seconds between their top and fifth runner.

Highland Regional also had a top performer in the freshmen race where Nuriddin Wise finished first in the boys race with a time of 12:29 in the 2.2 mile. Teammate Ben Woodward was right behind him in second with a 12:30. 

The girls freshmen race featured Crystal Ortiz, a up and comer for the Hudson Catholic girls, who placed first overall by over a minute! She broke the meet record for freshmen girls with a time of 13:21!
