Big Day for Froshies at County Championships
Doing it both shorter, longer and relays the frosh boy's had one of the better Casey showings at this event.
Tommy Spernal amd Nick Cella turned in 3,4 finish in the boy's 100 meter dash running 11.79 and 11.84 respectively. Spernal would later return to take 6th place in the 200 with his 24.07.
Over in the field events newcomer Cole Cornaechia ad 3 rd place showing uncorking his 128'8 in the Javelin and Casey Sullivan a lifetime best in the shot with his 34'7 1/4" toss. Also in the sophmore throws fast rising star to be Tim O'Hara had a lifetime best 105'1 in the Discus throw to take 5th place.
Justin McInnis joined the sub 5 club with his 4:57.1 performance just narrowly missing a medal. he would return last night and lower this again to 4:46.4 at the Holmdel Twilight meet.
The boy's 4x400 relay with Spernal once again this time teaming with Chris Cesario, John Leach and Taylor Cinque took home medals with their very solid 3:48.0 time.

Girl's DM runs US#7 at Penn!
The girl's DM turned in a US#7 time in Thursday night's Championship of America Race at the Penn Relays. Lindsey Bellaran, Haley Rousell, Meghan McMullin and Liana Marzano. Their time of 11:55.7 is also # 18 all time in NJ state history and McMullin's carry of 2:15.6 was second fastest of the meet.
Fast Times at Holmdel Relays
With the temperatures soaring on Saturday many of the Caseys were as well. The girl's had a banner day with victories in the girl's Distance Medley(new meet record), 4 x800, and Sprint Medley relays. Also scoring points were the girl's 4x200 and Javelin relays.
On the boy's ledger solid efforts came from the Sprint Medley and Javelin relays both taking 3rd place with senior Charley Rooney pulling a unique double of 800 meters and a lifetime best in the javelin.

Boy's turn in succesful day at Metuchen
Newcomer Scott Huhn leaped 19'7.5" to make his Casey debut a success and the boy's 4 x800 relay used a monster lead off by sophmore Connor McNmara to grab 2nd place and dip under the 8:10 mark early in the season.
Other highlights on the day included frosh Justin McInnis inching closer to the sub 5 club with his 5:04.1 performance and Charley Rooney's 143' toss in the javelin.

Byrne takes record in 5000, McMullin US #2!
Yesterday's Metuchen Relays proved to be a succesful one for the Caseys despite a strong wind blowing all day.
Mary Kate Byrne would start things off with her school record 18:54.2 in the 5000, and soph Kelly Mulvaney had a lifetime best in 19:54.2.
In the 400 hurdles Meghan McMullin picking up right where she left off last spring set a meet record with her US#2 time of 63.1. McMullin would return later on the girl's Sprint Medley to earn double gold with their winning time and US#11 4:10.3 performance.
Other Casey highlights included Meghan Swan's first time ever under the 6 minute barrier in the 1600, and the 4x800 relay taking a 4th place finish.

Girl's 4 x 800 NJ All Time # 3 !
After the boy's big showing on Friday afternoon it was the girl's turn on Saturday night at the New Balance Indoor Nationals.
The 4x8 team took the track looking for their 2nd National title in as many years and although they came up just short, it was some effort none the less. MaryKate Dooley(2:25.3) Lindsey Bellaran (2:12.4)Meghan McMullin(2:13.6) and Liana Marzano (2:13.3)turned in the 3rd fastest time ever run by a NJ HS team with their 9:05.2.
For Bellaran, McMullin, and Marzano it was their 3rd All American honor and Dooley now gets to All American to her resume.
In the frosh girl's mile Mary Kate McNamara grabbed the win in section 1 with her 5:17. good for 8th place overall and Gracie Eckstein had a very solid 5:33.7 for the full mile.

Connor McNamara started things off with his indoor debut over 800 meters in 2:03.8, followed by Marc Cenicola's lifetime best of 2:04.9. It would be Rob Napolitano doing the heavy lifting splitting a whopping 1:53.8 and Charley Rooney running 2:00.4 for the 8:02.6 Runner's High Racing Club to grab 5th place in the emerging elite category.
It is now off to the Penn Relays in April for the Casey quartet!

Eastern State Champs for Girl's DM
The 3 Casey seniors of Lindsey Bellaran, Meghan McMullin, and Liana Marzano continued their farewell indoor tour last night at the NYC Armory and the Eastern States Championships. Teaming with sophmore on the rise Haley Rousell, the girl's defended their title in the DM with a new RBC record and US #6 performance in 11:55.3. Lindsey led things off with her tremendous 3:38 1200 and leg and would be followed by a 62.3 400 for Haley, Meghan's 2:14.6 and Liana in dramatic fashion would close with a 67 second last 400 to put the title in their hands.
Also having a very solid night was the girl's 4x 8 relay which used a mix of youth and senior leadership to run 9:48. Senior Ashley Handchen would lead things off with a 2:28. and be followed by freshmen MaryKate Mac and Gracie Eckstein with a 2:27 and 2:28 respectively. MaryKate Dooley than brought the quartet home with a 1:24 anchor.
Individually MaryKate Byrne had a very competitive effort in the girl's mile to take home a top 10 finish and Kassi Chrsanthopolous made her Eastern's debut as well.
On the boy's side it was a big night for the Dm as well, lowering the season best time to 10:29.9 good for 7th place. Despite a drop of the baton at the start Kyle Bogart turned in a 3:18.9 with Marc Cenicola running 52.8, Charley Rooney 2:00.6, and Rob Napolitano burning it up with his 4:16.7 anchor.

Boy's Claim Relay School Record and Nap Returns to MOC!
The boy's 4 x 400 relay turned in a very solid 4th place effort at this past weekend's NJ State Group Championships. The team of Marc Cenicola, Connor McNamara, Tommy Spernall, and Rob Napolitnao bettered the school indoor record set back in 2005 with a time of 3:35.0.
Napolitano earlier in the meet took 3rd place after leading through the middle stages of a slower than preferred 1600 meter race with a time of 4:21.9. He will look to better his 7th place finish from a year ago at this Saturday's Meet of Championships.
