Here are the state course bests for our 2019 seniors as well as their yearly progression to get there. Alexa Westley's 18:31 for sixth at the Meet of Champions last season has her #1 among seniors. That dropped 17 seconds from her sophomore season best of 18:48, which happened to earn her fourth at MOCs. Now a two time defending spring MOCs winner in the 3200m the Warren Hills star is entering her senior fall season with eyes on the prize in the 5K.
There will be plenty of competition in the way of that however, including some great talent not found on this seniors only list. In terms of the class of 2019 there are only six girls with sub-19 minute PRs, and the closest to Westley's time include Abby Loveys of Randolph, the outdoor 1600m MOCs winner, at 18:35 and Jerika Lufrano of Union Catholic at 18:36. Both these girls saw strong improvements last year, especially Lufrano who dropped some major time off her course best which went from a 19:54 in 2015 to 18:36 in 2017.
