These rankings take the top three from every team for each event and scores them like a cross country meet. I've provided two sets of statistical rankings, one uses returners from the 2017 outdoor season and in case those athletes improved over the winter we also have the 2018 indoor version heading into spring. Note that if a team focused on their 4x800m relays instead of recording individual times that isn't considered with these individual based statistical rankings.
Boys Best Distance Squads
It is no surprise that Hopewell Valley leads the outdoor returners for the 800m finishing as our first team 4x800m selections and winning MOCs this past indoor. Coming off this indoor 800m season St. Benedict's Prep destroyed the rankings by almost 100 points having three athletes finish in the top ten!
Hopewell Valley also led the 1600m indoor rankings. Mendham had three finish top 15 to lead the team rankings for the indoor 3200m. First and second for the outdoor returning 1600m and 3200m squads were traded between West Windsor Plainsboro North and Christian Brothers Academy respectively.
Girls Best Distance Squads
Randolph has full control of the outdoor returning and indoor 2018 squad rankings for the 1600m led by Abby Loveys' sub-five minute runs. Northern Highlands also dominates both the 3200m rankings with the super squad of Monica Hebner, Isabel Hebner, and Daisy Liljegren.
The 800m squad lists definitely provided the most variation with the Academy of the Holy Angels leading outdoor returners by two points over Sterling and then Union Catholic leading the indoor stats over Ridge and Pingry School.
